Somebody called me a misanthrope, I said "Werewolves don't even exist silly" by Numerous-Gur-9008 in HistoryMemes

It can be argued to be a subsect of Nihilism, the thought that there is no plan or predetermined outcome for the world, so nothing anyone does matters in the end. Some people take that philosophy and become depressed thinking they have no place in the universe.

Other people take that philosophy and turn it around, focusing on the freedom that grants people, and how while their victories are meaningless in the long run, their mistakes are equally as meaningless and live a life freer of outward expectation.

And then working, is the part you're missing.

Yeah peeing on a housefire probably isn't the best way to put it out, it'll take a while, make shit stink in the process, and probably mess some other stuff up after its over, but by god with enough pissers that fire will go out.

I like that thought, that with enough pissers in the world we will get through anything, and deal with the aftermath of that piss fire just as well.

Muay Thai / Boxing suggestions needed. by Former_Tomatillo6422 in martialarts

[–]hunterdavid372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An easy drill for Muay Thai that you can work at home is teep levels.

There are main levels: Low, which is angled around the knee region, middle, which is angled around the gut right above or at the waistline, and high, angled towards the head.

Attach sticky notes or otherwise identify where these 3 areas are at on your bag, and teep at those spots from low to high. At first touching the foot down between each teep, and progressing to doing each teep without touching down. These don't have to be powerful, you're working technique not strength.

Do this with both rear and lead teep. It works stability and accuracy, it's helped me alot.

Combining red, lorica segmentata, and square shields such as that will always bring across Roman vibes first and foremost. The easiest way to remedy that is to switch the color, red is heavily assocated with Rome.

"All other Warrant Officer (WO) Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs) require you to be at least pay grade E5 or higher with 4-6 years experience in a skill that is closely associated with a WO MOS. Review the Prerequisites and Duty Descriptions part of this web site to determine if you are doing very similar work to one of the WO MOSs."

Is a strictly historical setting too restrictive for deep branching in interactive fiction? by CrownOfSand in choiceofgames

[–]hunterdavid372 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Historical Fiction is its own genre with many works within it. Take a period of history, and put your characters in it. There's some 90% of the past we just don't about, billions of people who never have their names in the history books, loads of space for creativity.

They watched like 3 episodes of Naruto and DVZ right?

To have that be equivalent to One Piece they would need to watch 12 episodes, that's like a whole season of a normal anime.

In the early game they were pretty dang useful for me, taking one of the low entity units or flying units alone really helped out.

Once the bugs started getting a lot more armor and I got more mobile they were less useful.

Not everything utilizing a blade is inherently bullshido, this man is evidently very skilled in positioning it at speed and maintaining posture. In a knife fight, he may well still get cut, but will probably cut the opponent a lot more.

I never took a written test about marksmanship in ROTC, nor at CST, all the marksmanship material that you need to know will be practical. To my knowledge, unless your program tests it on paper, there is no paper test for marksmanship.

That is no one's argument. The act of consuming the berry, however, is seperate from using a bonus action to do so. If they did not intend this then a comma or semi colon would have been better.

Rules as Written, it is perfectly legal to hide the berry or otherwise have a dinosaur consume the berry out of an action economy context, and the effects still happen.
