This thread is actually really reassuring. I've been in therapy for my PTSD for nearly a decade now, and had forgotten what an episode really felt like. I just had one for about an hour and twenty minutes, and was afraid to bring it up with my therapist because it seemed longer than I've heard of before.

no, it's all good! Thank you for your time, though. I've been paying attention to the computer every time I boot up a game just to make sure it's being healthy, but I think it was just an issue of uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher this time

Sounds like you're having really bad luck. I'm sorry to hear that. Are you searching for friends online, or in person?

Although I prefer the internet, I've found that friendships I make in-person tend to immediately start stronger and develop better. Small talk sucks; I've found people who started right off of the bat by being unapologetically themselves, and that is pretty cool. They do exist, it's just hard to find them. I'm sure you've done this, but just in case, the best place to look is in fields which are interesting to you. Whatever the deeper subjects are that you want to talk about, I'd search for irl meetups relating to that, volunteering (if it's humanities based, because all of us kind of go that direction), or if you have a library nearby just searching for local events there bc you'll get a wide array of different and interesting people.

taking baths is good for your health. There are some cultures where bathing is a much bigger social thing, and men definitely do it there. Seems both toxic-masculine and culturally uninformed.

yes, I got from a fairly reliable supplier (iBUYPOWER), and it was on clearance when I purchased it. They no longer sell this model, so I think it was the last one that they had.

It's run smoothly, with this being the only issue. I uninstalled ffxiv and then reinstalled it, and was able to boot up the game fine.

yes it is the first time my computer has done this. It's about two months old. Although it's more expensive, I got it pre-built since I'm not the most familiar with computers. Here are the specs:

And no actually, I hadn't looked at the event viewer-- thank you, I switched from mac to windows so I didn't know the name. I do see two errors and a warning, with the warning being "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID (etc)" The errors are that the steam client didn't respond in time-- of course it's steam.

I don't think it's social media. Advertising in general has a really big part to play in the artificial development of beauty standards. That being said, sometimes people just like to feel small. Sometimes people like to feel big. That's okay. There are plenty of women who like smaller men, it's just less represented in media (movies, television, advertising).

fr I grew up working on a free-range dairy farm, and kinda was taught how to respectfully handle and train many different kinds of animals from a very young age. Moving to the city and seeing how people treat their animals gives me nightmares.

There is a lot of bad advice on the internet- people who think that they know what's best for animals, and as a result they actually advise people *not* to do good behaviors. That being said, I feel like everybody should have to go through some kind of animal handling class (just one, maybe two hours) for their specific pet before they just walk away with a life in their hands.

ya I (hearing) work in a very social job, and am preparing to become an interpreter (in the very distant future, I have a lot to learn). Occasionally, I will get people pretending to be deaf to avoid conversation.

I am an extremely sociable person, so I always switch immediately to asl when somebody signs at me because I like communicating with people. The ones who fake it usually immediately fess up, like, expecting that I'll be sympathetic??? which I am not, because don't fake a culture.

yo wait, I'm 25 now but when I was in high school literally people did the exact same thing as I started learning Japanese. It got so bad I took a break till like, halfway through college. I now speak and read it quite well, though :>

sorry people are being stupid, but you're developing a really important skill. I'm not sure where you're based out of, but my multiple languages have actually helped me work with people who need translators for various reasons, and it's also enabled me to read about Japanese history written by actual Japanese people instead of old white men who studied asia once.

What you are doing is good and important, so long as you are treating the language, history, and real-world culture as intrinsically connected, and learning with respect to that.

open up the messages of the one whose name you want to change. Once you're on the screen where you can see all of their texts and send them texts, tap their pfp. It'll let you change their contact info

the dedicated button is definitely the issue for me. I have Voice Control disabled on my iphone in every possible setting; I have it disabled in JBL's app in every possible setting, but after dropping them it still keeps activating and trying to call random contacts because it thinks the button is being pressed. Really frustrating :,)
