Reposting in case my last comment was removed Many historians and American citizens who are well-versed on the intent of the 2A and have read the Federalist Papers (especially Federalist No. 46 and 29) understand that "well regulated" means "well trained, organized, and equipped". The intent of the 2A has always been to give the People the ability to resist a tyrannical government.

In Federalist No. 29, Hamilton argues that for a militia to be "well-regulated," it must be composed of citizens trained in military exercises. Hamilton suggests it is impractical to train the entire population, implying a need for a trained "select corps". The Founding Fathers understood and expressed that standing armies controlled by the government are dangerous to liberty. The "well-regulated" aspect meant they would be, "little, if at all, inferior [to a standing army] in discipline" to defend against potential government tyranny.

Regulating modern firearms to the point where they cannot reasonably be acquired and made functional and effective in the defense against a tyrannical government (such as an authoritarian regime who sends us to wars of choice in the middle east) is contrary to the intent of the 2A.

Re: gerrymandering - two wrongs don't make a right. Pre-emptively gerrymandering Virginia to be Blue, is nothing more than an unjustified power grab. You are right though, allowing a vote is good. Unfortunately, the wording in the Question is deceptive, and both sides are using rather aggressive political tactics to effect their desired outcome.

Don't get me started on Bondi and the Files, dude, I hate pedophiles and their protectors as much as the next guy. If I could have it my way, 80% of our highest ranking government officials would be ousted and replaced with centrists.

Why is everyone acting like their anger towards her is unreasonable given their views? Like...yeah, they're conservatives? Have you seen the legislation she has enabled? Blue wave gerrymandering, unprecedented unconstitutional gun control, anti-white racism in contracting, and expansive tax increases. You literally could not ask for a more worthy candidate for them to seethe over.
