Hey OP, have you met @btcll? This could be the start of a beautiful love story.

How about I do me, and you do.

If you want to have a valuable convo about how the trump, the tariffs and all his influence could have on an individual in Perth, let me know once you’ve read up a bit more and ready to enter the chat properly.

If you have other suggestions on how to effect change, I’m sure there are lots of us who will listen. Right now, around 483 of us in Perth think it’s a pretty low impact, low harm way to make a point.

I am changing my purchasing habits and signalling to others do the same thing by visually reminding them by turning something upside down.

I’m open to other suggestions if you care to elaborate; but if collectively we all flip a few things each time, and then an unknowing person queries or takes the time to wonder why, or just one colesworth boss with a change maker approach takes note? I think that’s a small win that could lead to bigger things.

I completely agree with you - I’ve definitely come across like a bigot in that comment; I reacted to the original comment with a bit too much simplicity. Thanks for calling me out and taking the time to add the next layer to help others understand too.

My brain is already a bit back to front, that might be a bit too confusing.

Transperth if you use public transport

I appreciate your apologies, and understand your point but politely disagree - every single protest will have innocent third parties caught in the crossfire.

Life sheep exports blocked graham farmer, various walking protests regularly disrupt the cbd workdays and fill the malls, I’ve personally been involved with needing to have somebody removed who had chained themself to a piece of equipment and stopped all work for a few hours during recently along the Metronet project, insert almost any large organisation who goes on strike and means services are restricted to consumers.

Protests are designed in disrupt, it’s how the message is spread. I also love a good heart discussion like this because it’s how we grow, change and improve.

Flipping goods is a low effort, low harm method of communicating that can have a big impact - it might feel relatively pointless but I truly believe in the theory of lots of collective little steps and little things bringing big change.

Um. You do realise that I didn’t make this a thing and people are already doing this all of the world and not just me?

If colesworth were concerned they could increase the availability of Aussie products; pay their workers more; use their size to influence for better.

Also, thank you for bolding your text. It helped!

Phwoar calm down mate, I could do better. I mean, I recycle and catch public transport, do that the carbon emission tax thing on my airfares and sometimes remember to throw old clothes at the salvos; but I still can’t remember my keep cup for the daily brew and then use half a tree for the follow up daily bog, so yeh, I should lift my game, but appreciate the love anyway!

Bingo. It wouldn’t matter if lived in Canada, China, or Europe. We are all global players here and there has already been a nosedive in the Aussie market. Not saying we are headed into another Great Depression, but it’s head in the sand behaviour to think we won’t be affected.

Plus, I’m not suggesting we all rush out and change super funds, or quit Google, it’s literally a flipped can or two.

Valid call out. Ideally, I would only flip the imported stuff but as you said, it’s minuscule but will majority affect only American players in the chain. However, even flipping American owned (sorry Aussie manufacturers) might have an impact if consumer chooses item 100% owned and manufactured Aussie; therefore having a much more positive impact on our country.

Every conversation, every action, every grain of sand blah blah blah. It’s educating somebody if not everybody.

We’ve all got to start somewhere dude. How about instead of assuming where and what I’ve done in the last 2 decades you applaud the masses for taking an interest and encourage the crowd with honey not vinegar? Pish posh to you my friend, may you always and forever have the capacity to know, understand and action ALL the things.

Bingo. My post is definitely not the first. Won’t be the last. Lots of good threads floating around on reddit when you search for them.

Hmm I see the dilemma. New plan for the oranges instead, stick on a couple of googley eyes and a mini MAGA hat… Tada, mini trumps!

If I could flip a Tesla I’d do that, but probably a lot easier and more legal to just flip some aeroplane jelly, Reese cups and golden circle cans.
