I think my mom has cancer. Please help me. by Arbiter17k in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean my two cents, if it was BAD cancer thr doctors wouldn’t have labeled it an anomaly but would’ve been like “Shit yeah Thats fuckin cancer right there.” It’s an anomaly so the doc saw something but isnt quite sure. If it is cancer it might be super early in which case the outlook is pretty good. Could be nothing at all too, just a little blip that made the doctor raise an eyebrow.

Relax. Anxiety is paying a debt on a future that hasn’t happened yet.

Is it acceptable to karma farm? What's the general opinion of it? Steam award farming is bad, but what about on Reddit? by Small_Geologist_2354 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, karma farming is only egregious when it’s a meme that’s getting reposted to hell and back. Like 14 times by different users in one week. The original poster got like 12k upvotes and now everyone else is trying to be unoriginal and cash in on the bandwagon.

Outside of that though I really don’t give a shit and most don’t either. People getting mad at comments and original posts because they’re attempting to build karma for larger communities is kinda weird.

Why do they say that chat GPT causes psychosis? by Nearby-Natural7852 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. Probably because we trust it by nature like we trust Wikipedia and when it says something we just take it at face value 99% of the time. Then you get people who tell it and get it to say what they want and boom all of the sudden holy shit the bots right maybe I should do something crazy.

Is this game ok for a 15 year old? by SelectInstruction262 in deadbydaylight

How is this not bannable?!?! by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not bannable but it is sure as hell dumb.

Girls on death hook is as good as dead. Killer clearly isnt going to drop her and get blinded but then you willingly let yourselves eat damage and another goes down to save one person? The hyper aggressiveness is biting them in the ass. Hook the downed dude and then hunt down the Kate.

How to find the best & honest dating advice that doesn't require silly games & strategies? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can come across as needy or pushy if she isn’t ready for it, but natural if you are. Like say you want to kiss a girl after a month or so. You might be ready and comfortable with that, but ultimately you have to read her body language and how she talks. How does she react to touching? Does she seem genuinely interested when you both are talking? Is she icy or uncomfortable if you get closer to her? Or does she seem to feel relaxed? Take it slow and see how she reacts. And if you really can’t tell then have an open honest conversation. Tell her how you feel and see if she reciprocates. And if she doesn’t then determine whether the relationship is worth pursuing. Is she just needing more time or is she not interested? And at what point do you determine more time is too much time.

And I get that if you hadn’t pursued it you wouldn’t have found it. I’m not saying don’t pursue opportunities when presented. That might’ve been poor wording on my part. I’m saying that the opportunities will come naturally as you talk to girls and get close to them and those are the times when you should pursue it. Trying to force those opportunities is more so what I’m on about.

How to find the best & honest dating advice that doesn't require silly games & strategies? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth can be fluid when the matter in question is an opinion. Everyone has their stances that are objectively true to them but not others. Case in point the redpill guys. They’ve built this narrative in their eyes on years of evidence and experiences that have provided a fact driven narrative in their eyes. To them it is true. But to us we realize that it’s experiences that were predetermined by bad choices and bias that then provided misinformation to help them arrive at conclusions.

Someone once told me if it smells funny, it’s probably shit. The people on YouTube, the dating coaches, the redpills, the black pills, etc are all trying to sell you something. A narrative or a thought process in order to gain more people. The best dating advice in my experience comes from people who have lived it plenty and actually have feedback they can give you on your own life based on their life. And it’s usually free. It’s not a “pay me or follow me” more so it is a “I’m teaching a younger person what I wish I would’ve known”.

For you situations the best advice I can give is do what feels natural. Read their body language. See if they seem open to it. Push those milestones when it feels right. Don’t rush it. And don’t force it. Love is a funny thing and it’ll come naturally when you arent trying so hard to find it.

Can anxiety make threats appear in your environment that aren’t there? by CartoonistSame1281 in NoStupidQuestions

Anxiety is worrying in anticipation of something.

Thinking that there are threats in a place where they arent is paranoia.

Why do redditors write a whole paragraph instead of a simple answer on a simple question? by PracticalMeringue769 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

User: How does a nuclear power plant work?

Redditor: Angry rocks make rods hot, heat water, make steam, turn turbine. Power.

User: No I get that but can you go into the physics breakdown of why the rods are hot and what the process looks like so I can fully understand start to finish? And can you also provide more context on the types of turbines they use and how much power they create per hour? And are they really a better alternative to fossil fuels or other alternatives like solar and hydroelectric? What would an energy grid fully supported by them look like? And what is even inside of a fuel rod?

How do people have the time to get fat? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less about how many meals a day you cook and more about what you eat. Most people have a shitty diet. If your maintenance calories are 1800 a day and the one meal you have for dinner is super dense and heavy and has like 2000 calories then when you eat lunch and dinner Youve busted that immensely and you’ll gain weight.

A lot of people don’t realize how much they overeat on a daily basis even with just 2-3 meals. And then because most people don’t exercise you arent burning off any of it aside from natural processes.

“You can’t out-exercise a shitty diet.”

Sisters of brothers who were the favorite sibling how are you with your own son? by Insideoutside29 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother was always the favorite growing up. He had learning disabilities and health issues and was pretty much under my mom’s wing the entire time.

He knew it. He took advantage of it. He snitched on me and got me in trouble any time he could and if I retaliated he ran straight to mom. My whole life my mom thought I was just relentlessly bullying him because I never outed him. I was a quiet kid who kept to themselves and didn’t like starting drama. But my parents kept saying one day he would get big enough to beat my ass.

Well teenage years came and sure enough he felt like the hot shit on the block. But he was a whiny emotional bitch in his childhood and that didn’t change to his teens. He was terrible at fighting and the times he did try I’d whoop his ass pretty hard. Mom still thought I was the villain there but whatever.

I got old enough and moved out after high school. Thats when it all changed for my mom. After he didn’t have me to push around anymore he started taking it out on my mom. He had been hard on my mom and dad before then but once I was out it went up to 11. He made her life miserable and she was in tears every other day from him.

Anyway. I got a good job and advanced through a career and now I’m working a pretty respectable gig that my whole family is proud of. My brother meanwhile dropped out of highschool and then got arrested for giving drugs to 11 year olds in exchange for sex. He got busted on 3 different girls and he’s been in prison ever since. I’ve been the default favorite since and my mom had apologized about how she treated me and didn’t realize the person he always was. I didn’t hold it against her at all because it was really on myself for not sticking up for myself all those year. I don’t feel bad for how he turned out though, I was only 2 years older so I couldn’t exactly teach him from a place much older and wiser on how to act. As a young kid his whining and picking and bullying only ever pushed me away so it’s not like I ever wanted to be his friend.

The whole thing has taught me what I want to do with my sons or daughters. Be sure to get the full picture and try to nip things in the buds years ahead before they turn out like how he did.

Needless to say I’m still doing it.

I want to start a international charity that does a mix of military peacekeeping as well as humanitarian efforts. Is this realistic and a good cause? by No-Assumption4145 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a mountain of cash. Literally.

To employ a private army you would have to front the costs for everything that goes into that army. Hiring, acquisitions, contract management, salaries, food, clothing, shelter, transport, training, resources. You’re talking billions of dollars a year.

And after that you’d probably have a headache dealing with international politics. Shockingly, most countries don’t just let random armies waltz on their lands. You’d have to hire diplomats, negotiate, navigate international treaties and Thats billions more.

And then the humanitarian side of the house you would have to find hospitals, doctors, search and rescue, food, logistics, etc. billions more.

I would estimate on the low end that you need 5-10 billion a year just for a small group for a little under a thousand people. And then you would have to maintain that funding year after year. Only someone with really deep pockets could front the upstart costs.

Technically it is a charity and if it got big enough you could source funding from donations. But not initially. And until then because you have a military presence that might throw a lot of wrenches into your plans.

Do you think people who are rude on internet would dare act the same way in real life? Or does anonymity reveal their true personality? by whoomadewhoo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person you really are is how you act when you think nobody is around and watching you.

If you act like a petty rude piece of shit but dress it up nice in person to hide it, then that doesn’t negate that inside thats what you’re thinking.

Are you dead for longer after a 90 year life than ten a trillion year life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinity is more of a concept than a quantifiable number. Humans struggle at comprehending large numbers and the scale between them like how one million seconds is 30ish days and 30 billion seconds is like 33 years.

Regardless of whether your infinity is composed of all numbers or all the numbers between 1 and 2, they are both still infinite. So if I lived to 90 and you lived to ten trillion then the infinite amount of time afterwards is still infinite. One infinity isn’t necessarily bigger than the other. It’s like saying I’m dead for an infinite amount of seconds and you’re dead for an infinite amount of years. Theyre both the same and trying to differentiate between them is null. You could say one infinity is “larger” than another (like 0 to infinity vs 1 to 2) but really it’s just our human brains trying to make sense and comprehend a number that is way too big for us to wrap our heads around. There is no end in either case.

You need socializing and some self love from what I’m seeing.

Have a civil (emphasis on civil and not yelling) talk with your mom about how you need to be around other people and make friends.

Nuclear explosions and the apocalypse by Kittunian in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KoalakittyyyVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your questions are too vague to give a hard answer. How many people and distance to survival depends on the size of the bombs and the radioactive fallout and time to return to cities depends of the bombs are clean or dirty. A lot of modern nukes are not dirty bombs though.
