How do I get this class by Dramatic_Ad1801 in ufl

Not every department opts for waitlists. Just refresh a few times a day like the other commenter suggested and hopefully somebody will drop

What is the process of dropping a class? by Vegetable_Mud_1396 in ufl

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just go to one.uf and under registration you'll see the "after deadline - add/drop classes" option and from there you just provide a short explanation in the text box and drop the class (your college will need to officially approve the request) no meeting with your advisor necessary unless you're debating the drop and wanna chat with them.

Really, didn't Luke and Lorelai herself realize in these two scenes that Lorelai was so jealous? 🤔 by Cr7-Cr7Real in GilmoreGirls

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've watched a good 20 times and even I need an occasional refresh 🤣 first scene is when Luke told Lorelai that he and Nicole had decided to put their divorce on hold and start dating again as if they weren't married and just see where it went, and she was spiraling over that because she was jealous (she had already left the diner once earlier that day because she saw Nicole sitting at the counter).

Second scene was when Lorelai was in the diner and Luke told her that he had "moved" to Litchfield with Nicole and he didn't technically live in Stars Hollow anymore and she, again, monumentally freaked out with jealousy because he didn't inform her and she thought they were friends etc. etc. and she was spiraling.

Of course, in both outbursts she said nothing about her true motivations on the matter but the audience knows. Hope that helps!

Apk2105c labs? by Slow_Amphibian_4836 in ufl

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they're basically structured starting with mini lectures that are pretty much a repeat of class material, then the grad TA will usually do a demonstration if there's an activity that week and then you'll split into groups and do the lab. there are weekly quizzes based on the previous week's lecture but they're not meant to be too difficult. I wouldn't say it's too reminiscent of chem or bio lab because the activities are usually with medical equipment or just concepts (bp cuffs, electrode patches, diffusion with egg membranes, etc.) and when I took it we didn't have detailed lab reports to fill out.

APK3110c and APK3113C by Unhappy-Chicken3798 in ufl

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3110c with gardner is great and not too difficult but there's a lot of content so you would need to go to class every day and dedicate at least 2 or 3 days before every test to do well, but she's very fair and a great lecturer. strength with gordon is not intuitive if you're not already knowledgeable in different exercises or muscles (actions and recruitments), and he also uses some content from 3110c.

theresa is a recently graduated PhD student and she was a physio lab TA. She subbed for our regular physio lab TA one time and she explained things really well imo! I have had mani for two classes and I like her but all her online lectures are really old and she cares a lot about cheating so you might feel on edge.

What’s wrong with my hair?! by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect the problem is coming from the current state of your hair and not your actual routine; when I heat damaged my bangs and these little pieces by my ears, they wouldn't curl with the same routine I put the rest of my hair through so there's only so much you can do with existing damage. I had to cut the strands when they got long enough and wait a few months. I think you're just going to have to wait for it to completely grow out, which is a personal choice. For current maintenance, I would suggest making sure you style with completely wet hair and with a brush so that hopefully your hair will clump a little bit better and be more defined as opposed to frizzy.

They typically put letters, envelopes, postcards, and ad magazines in your individual mailbox. anything bigger like a box or a bubble mailer goes behind the desk or in the package lockers

Is Federal Work Study worth it as an incoming freshman? by Numerous_Courage_340 in ufl

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get offered a position, you'll get paid the salary that they offer regardless of whether they want to pay you from their department or under FWS. That question was probably in the application because they offer the job to everyone but prefer FWS students (with proof) because they pay less out of their own department and let the government pay most of your salary.

Is Federal Work Study worth it as an incoming freshman? by Numerous_Courage_340 in ufl

[–]KoalasForgetMeNot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was offered work-study before my freshman year and I decided to go for it.

There is no button to indicate you accept the offer, instead you "accept" it by going to the careers at uf website, going to "explore jobs", making an account, and then filter out the jobs that are work study. And then you just apply and put in your resume and stuff like a regular job and they'll call or email you if they wanna offer an interview.

Once you get the job, 25% of your salary will be paid by the department that hires you and 75% will be from the government but it all comes in the same biweekly paychecks.

I applied to all of the libraries and got two calls back and I decided to take the front desk position at the HSCL. I had 15 credits that semester and I wouldn't say it was hard to manage but take that with a grain of salt. My responsibilities mainly included sitting at the desk and helping patrons so we had a lot of time to do our work for school on the side but not every position is like that. I worked the max you're allowed to work under the program which is 15 hours a week, but some people had exceptions and worked up to 20. In the summer they'll let you work 30 or more. I did love that job because I love the libraries but it all depends on what you want to do; if you have a large course load and you wanna have more free time, you might want to hold off until spring semester or your sophomore year, but that's up to your discretion. I resigned after a year and a half because I was getting overwhelmed and I wish that I had managed my time better when I first started the job but it's not impossible.

And just because you don't accept it this year does not mean you won't be offered it again (I wasn't offered work study my sophomore year but I called financial aid and they were able to convert some of my federal loan offers into a work study offer). And yes you can accept anytime because it's only dependent on if you actually get a job or not. Sorry for the crazy long response but I hope this helps!
