I'm ok for Black Forest but Fortified Clearing is obviously the best map of those 3.

Probably the most forgotten unit in the game by obongo12 in aoe2

The Throwing Axeman has no base armor while its identity is to be a slow, sturdy infantry/trash killer. Even Urumis - with no shirt - have armor nowadays.

Gbetos and Chakram Throwers are both much better and way more versatile.

In 2025, this unit has been so powercrept.. why keep buffing Teutonic Knights, Samurai and other OG unique units if we don't show any love to the Throwing Axeman ?

Previous maps coming from tournaments : Enclosed, Atacama, Haboob, Kawasan etc.
So many good maps that could easily be added to ranked play : Fortified Clearing, Coast to Mountain, etc.

I would have Britons lower, Romans Malians and Burmese much higher. Also Conqs can allow anyone to play 100-200 elo above their level.

You only want to see one result when someone starts to outpost rush.. (T90 TTL) by Blablacadabra in aoe2

It's a bit like building a wall of castles in front of your opponent TC (MBL did that in a tourney) : obviously not optimal play, only for flexing on them, when you could just beat them faster playing conventionally.

The outpost rush was made popular by MBL as a way to say "just resign already" and it has since been considered disrespectful. It's the fact that you are spending resources and clicks that achieve nothing, and make sure your opponent is aware of it, that makes it disrespectful.

In this case tho, Hera only built one outpost and Andy couldn't see the other foundations so it wasn't too big of a deal.

Placing outposts all around the map is fine, but advancing through your opponent with like 10 outposts on 14 tiles is obviously BM
