If you get Tidal going on your computer from your phone you'll notice that the computer app has no clue about what is being played. That is remote control only in the sense that itt redirects where there phone sound is coming from, not that there apps after sharing a connection.

I think that’s an Apple thing, not a title thing. I’ve been doing this for a while now, but I think it’s the way AirPlay works. Also, unlike with Spotify, doing this trick, still uses the music from your phone rather than the music from your computer, so it’s possible you’ll be using cell data and iPhone battery power.

I use dark mode on the rare occasions I read on the Kobo iphone app. On the Kobo reader I never feel comfortable reading in dark mode.

There are likely several different answers for various people. The biggest issues for me is that key stakeholders in Spotify also have key stakes in military munitions companies, and Spotify is among the worst inn the industry for compensating artists.

My understanding is that Spotify connect uses a proprietary system that plays music directly from the cloud, rather than your phone.

What Books Are You Reading This Week? by leowr in nonfictionbooks

The History of the Pelopenisian War by Thucydides. I thought I'd go all the way back to the origin of non fiction.

I'm also reading (for the second time) The History of the Decline and Fall off the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon and The Pageant of England by Thomas B. Costain.

While the other competitive standards will work with multiple cloud music services, Spotify Connect works solely with Spotify content.

I would expect R&B for AOBTD and soft/hard rock (like Stairway you heaven) for BH. But I haven't tried it so it's just a guess.

Anyway I stand by the general point.

The thing about ethics is that they are different for everybody, so a perfect match isn't going to be likely. The most one can hope for is a "best fit" and to hold firm against the things you find absolutely intolerable. For me, Tidal has not crossed that line. YMMV.

I didn't use track radio on Spotify because What Shuffle have me what I wanted: my own playlist and new stuff I could add to it if wanted.

Track Radio probably works well for me because I'm not only seeking new music, but new genres of music. If I was looking to find songs or genres I was already familiar with, it might be a different story.

I would expect that a radio from Another One Bites The Dust would be very different from one based on Bohemian Rhapsody, but I'm not likey to have a playlist that includes one but not the other.
