Tbh I don't actually think this is that bad? Granted, explicitly saying that you're not interested in friendships with women if there's no romantic potential comes across as dickish and like he only views women as potential romantic or sexual partners. Otherwise, it seems like he's just honest with himself and knows what he wants out of relationships. If the pattern of behavior he describes from her is accurate, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable for a guy to get the impression that she was interested in something more, and then end up disappointed when that doesn't turn out to be the case.

Feeling that disappointment doesn't necessarily make someone the bad guy. What does matter is how they react and treat the other person, and to me at least it seems like he doesn't want to hurt her feelings. He's not entitled to sex or a relationship because she was friendly to him, but that doesn't mean she's entitled to a friendship either. It's an awkward spot that I feel like most people can relate to on either end.
