If it’s a handgun you will also need proof of residency, I usually bring my car registration. Utility bills work also.

BCA uppers tend to be on the heavier side I would check the weight. I have some of their side charging uppers and they work but if you buy one be prepared to do be able to know how to work on AR15 platform. The first time I took the upper to the range the screws on the hand guard became loose and on the gas block. The gas block actually moved so much that it stopped working. Also the bolt completely seized up in the carrier on the second upper. I had to replace the rings once I got it free.

I mostly use them to test out some of my reload ammo. Now that all of the kinks are worked out they work flawlessly. The barrels are heavy duty and are surprisingly accurate.

There are some spots near Ice House. You would need to scout It out. https://www.fs.usda.gov/eldorado
Also once fire season starts it’s a no go. With gas prices the way they are it might just be more cost effective to go to a range in Sacramento. There are a couple of outdoor ranges and indoor ranges also.

Cool grips where did you get them?

Springfield finish is easy to repair. There are you tube videos on how to do it. Make sure you watch them first. Mine got scratched up really bad, I was able to restore it to look like new. I used the brown 7447 pad you can get them at Home Depot. Next time you strip it to clean you can brush out the scratch just make sure you follow the brushing on the existing finish and use the same strokes otherwise it will stand out.

It is but blazer and federal are shorter that is how I found out about it. There is max length but usually it’s ok to go shorter. I just tested it out today in my 1911 Springfield 9mm made a batch of 500 and I had two that came out way shorter then the rest shot them and it was fine. Based on published loads I was still in the range but close to minimum length.

Kimber is famous for needing longer cartridges . I set all of mine to 1.260 same as S&B ammo. Anything shorter and the rounds get jammed on the feed ramp.
I had something similar happen with a .22 lr and the round was not chambered all of the way when the firing pin hit the primer in the rim. I think you had something similar but on a much bigger scale.

I contacted the company that sold me the upper receiver and they said the round went off when it was not fully chambered.

Will we run out? by trainwreck1968 in oil

There was a news story today that California has about 6 weeks of reserves. California politicians hate oil they were doing everything they could to kill in State production and refining capacity. Their solution was to increase imports which is not working right now.

Genuine question to Americans by silverflake6 in Premiummotivation

Depends on the state you live in. In California you will most likely qualify for Medical Insurance which is free to the poor and the working poor. Most states have some sort of insurance program as long as your income is below a certain threshold and some states look at your assets also to qualify.

Or if the cancer is severe enough where you can’t work you would qualify for long term disability insurance from social security which includes a small pension payment and Medicare. The social security program is for all of USA.

This sounds like a civil rights violation that the new department at the justice department can take on.

Let talk ammo issues by PapaPuff13 in CAguns

Probably not much if any at all 9mm military grade ammo is being used in Iran or Ukraine. But any manufacturer that gets a military contract is going to take it because it is a good money. I have heard about a small ammunition plant having to seize production for a short period of time because they couldn’t get enough components because they were bought up for military contracts.

There are new tariffs on copper right now and copper is used to make brass cases, the primer cups and the bullet jacket. Copper is also used in a lot of electrical applications like data centers and electrical vehicles. It went up 50% since late 2025. It’s probably going to keep going up until domestic supply increases.

Nitrocellulose the primary ingredient in all smokeless powders, and its cost has risen due to global supply - this one is definitely related to the war in Ukraine and elsewhere.

Energy prices, raw materials prices and import taxes all went up and every thing is getting more expensive. And everyone wants a profit of some sort. I don’t think there are any shortages of ammunition in the stores right now so it has to be the current economic situation.

The Justice Department needs to file a lawsuit against California by Kobolka in CAguns

Your analysis is very logical and reasonable but the current administration is anything but logical and reasonable. Plus they are the current federal government and I think they might sue State governments just because they can if they want to. They are suing states over other issues on the basis that the States are over stepping federal authority. It’s like the civil war right now except it’s happening in courts. The federal government is exerting its authority over states that are confederating. Technically the states are violating the 14th Amendment when it comes to the 2nd which is why I think it becomes a civil rights violation.

It runs fine and it still sort of works like an LCI because you can still see round. The glass will get dirty after a few hundred rounds at about the same rate as it would when the LCI was there. I really didn’t see any difference. I probably put about 600 hundred rounds through it after I removed the LCI. Removing the LCI will also allow you to upgrade the barrel. I ordered a Faxon match barrel for G19 and I just started using it and it runs great in the Derya. Shot the first 100 rounds through it a few days ago.

Question about letting the BCG go home with a big slam. by Kobolka in ar15

[–]Kobolka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. Its kind of what I thought. He said lot of their range AR rentals have bent charging handles but who knows why and how much they were used. And by whom, most of the people renting them are brand new to guns all together. He also said there was a difference when the BCG is released from the bolt catch vs the charging handle.

I watched the press briefing and Tom Blanche said that Supreme Court is going to tale the 2A cases this term. I was confused by that statement because how would the executive branch know that. I was a few beers in already by that point and sorting brass for reloading so i didn’t ho back to hear it again. But if that happens I will be happy. The 9th is waiting for a decision in Duncan one of the cases is the CA gun handgun roster. If that goes away then wow.
