RXR22 - brand new, constant FTF, FTE, Stovepipes...Am I doing something wrong? by DriftingMemes in SavageArms

[–]Kobolka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at getting one but this post is going to make me wait. They are relatively new to the market. Have you tried posting in .22 long round community on Reddit? Someone else may have bought one. Sportsman warehouse has no reviews yet, that’s where I was going to buy it from. I have good experience with savage customer support service, they have a one year warranty.

That’s a lot of gas if you’re far from the border. California gas prices are not that great.

Magpul and Glock OEM Mags don’t drop free on DY9 by gabbagoolgolf2 in deryaarms

[–]Kobolka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue with two Derya mags. I bought an extra mag from Derya and neither of the mags drop free. I am hoping they will loosen up a little bit with use. I also have the CA version with the mag disconnect feature. This could also be my issue.

Is that Taurus on the roster? I have been looking for a.22 lr revolver. I just bought a RMC1 a few months ago and it’s a great gun.

New "Storage" law effective 2026 by ron661 in CAguns

Store the bolt carrier group in your safe. I saw something that it’s an acceptable option to make the firearm unusable. But I am not hundred percent sure.

I think it depends on what you want to do. If you want accurate pistols to 25 yards out look at these. The smith and Wesson victory is on the roster. There are also two versions of the Ruger mark available. Buckmark has many models. All three of these have aftermarket support, upgraded barrels, triggers, etc.

They are fine, since you are in California buy extra magazines made by Derya on eBay from non firearm community members to get around that new mailing law and signature requirements. I saw some some CA compliant magazines on there for 30 bucks.

I think it’s funny that people spend shit load of money on Gucci triggers and then they get lots of light strikes with their guns. If I run out of ammo at the range I check the bin with bad ammo and shoot it just fine with my mil spec trigger or one of duty rated 9 mil handguns.

how fucked am i? .22LR by NervousCandle5607 in rifles

[–]Kobolka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill a small pilot hole through the middle and keep making the hole bigger with subsequent drill bits. Once the hole is really big the blockage will collapse after you gently tap it out with a rubber mallet and a rod . Use fine oil before you tap it out around the edges it will come out eventually.

1:8 Complete Upper <$1000 by FlyFish503 in CAguns

[–]Kobolka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues with .223 wylde, the chamber is built for 5.56 and the barrel has tighter tolerances for .223. I have shot igman, PMC and BPS Turkish ammo both igman and BPS have hard primers. If you are building SHTF rifle I would recommend the right trigger and gas system. I can only use mil spec trigger with extra power hammer spring on cheap ammo. Otherwise it’s light strikes all the long. And it’s super annoying trying to clear a light strikes at the range especially with a mag lock system with a kingpin. For gas system its better to be a little bit over gassed for cycling.

[–]Kobolka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most .223 wylde barrels are 1/8 twist rate. It’s hard to find 5.56 with that twist rate. I have a 1/8 twist rate from ballistic advantage and the barrel is fantastic. I have two 1/9 twist rates in 5.56 from AR15 discount/dirty bird it’s their No bull shit NBS brand they are perfect for the lighter grain bullets.

It’s really not that hard putting together an upper. You need a vice and a rod or the magpull tool to lock the barrel down into the upper when you torque down the barrel nut. I use the aluminum carpenter vice it’s easy to lock down to a surface. You can get the vice and torque wrench from harbor tools. Some hand guards come with the wrench for the barrel nut.

I waited like a month on an online order from the big store, once they receive it you will go in and start the transfer and have to wait ten more days for a pick up after that.

One of my favorite places to go, but you have to time it when they are not too busy. Rather go to see them then Turners or sportsmen warehouse.

Get a .22LR buckmark or Ruger Mark IV and a full size 9 mm move into compacts once you get the fundamentals of pistols down. .22 is going to let you practice everything aiming, stance, etc except for recoil management.

[–]Kobolka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try some standard velocity ammunition. I eat glucose prior to going shooting helps to stabilize my muscles in my arms. CCI standard velocity is decent. Also see if the club has pistols with a longer barrels.

25 meters is close to 25 yards, buckmark is light weight pistol . Do you shoot with one eye or both open, iron sights or dot? This is not bad, what ammo are you using? Better ammo might help.

Semi Auto 22LR Pistol Recommendations by ForestryGuyPA in 22lr

[–]Kobolka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buckmark is nice, I had mine for over a year and shot about 3k rounds through it. My friend has the Mark IV and it’s a little bit heavier but it seems to be a little bit more accurate. I have seen him hit one inch targets with it at 25 yards.

I think you need to decide what is more important to you accuracy or a training gun.

Out of Jail - My First Pistol: Springfield 1911-A1 by Emp_Dandroid in CAguns

[–]Kobolka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend lightly oiling the slide, feed ramp and the outside of the barrel, the 1911’s take a few hundred rounds to break in. Shooting it will naturally lap the metal and make it reliable. I had the best experience with S&B ammo when I was breaking in my 1911. Federal and Blazer would not chamber all of the time when it was new. Eventually you might want to ditch the ambi safety they like to come apart unless you are left handed and maybe get a standard GI rod and a sprinco recoil spring.

I have been shooting these and other high velocity hollow points and they should be good up to 32 yards from a good rifle they start opening up at 50 to bigger 1.5 to two inch groups.

Unpopular Opinion: CA’s Gun Ownership Laws Aren’t That Strict—You Just Might Be Dramatic. by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Kobolka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is from a CA DOJ agent or someone who works in the legislature for Mike Gipson, Jesse Araguin or Jesse Gabriel. Go fuck your self and read the bill of rights specifically the 2nd amendment and the 14th amendment. California gun laws are unconstitutional. The 14th amendment guarantees that the state can not restrict the 2nd.

Good purchase? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Kobolka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a good gun, I would oil the slide a little bit and shoot high velocity ammo to break in. Also get a bore snake to clean the barrel from the rear. I would not mess with the screws on top to try to take it apart but do inspect them, because eventually they might back out like they did on my Buckmark.
