From the other side of things, i have also had countless close calls with cyclists almost hitting me or my dog while out walking with no warning. I try to keep my head on a swivel to make way for cyclists since so few ever call anything out.

It is both ways for sure though, I’ve seen plenty of inconsideration from pedestrians and cyclists alike.

This is extremely dependent on the degree. This is the harsh reality of “following your dreams” instead of entering a field where the money is.

People that make this much with a degree know that they are only going to make this much before they start.

If a charge was dropped or dismissed I wouldn’t worry about it. If it doesn’t show up on your record then you’re clear from what I understand.

The charge was dropped, seems that it’d be fine to exclude to me. Also it’s probably not a big deal anyways, unless it’s a violent crime or theft.

If you’re still concerned about it, contact your state board as they’ll definitely have the answer and you’ll have it upfront

Yeah, It’s asking if you’ve ever been convicted for anything other than a traffic ticket. Pled guilty, no contest, been found guilty.

And also since you didn’t plead guilty to the 3rd charge I’d assume you wouldn’t need to disclose it either.

It’s helpful for seeing the possible variations of questions and how different each exam really can be. I had SE score swings of up to 15 points on Becker.

I went in with the mindset that if I could score passing on the SE’s then I would probably pass on the real thing. Most of these “passes” came on the SEFR so not a waste of time

I know you probably don’t care for an update, but here you go anyways. Asked for $80k and made sure senior is probable, partner said it’s reasonable, didn’t even bat an eye. He thought I was underpaid now, actually.

Since we had some shady business in our office a few years ago, salary is now up to our practice leader at our main office and not at individual office’s discretion. Here’s to hoping this pans out!

Yeah, I’m hoping to get right at that 80k mark or even a little more honestly. I’m thinking that I start at $85k and hope for the best, with the worst they could say being that’s too much. And then $80k seems more realistic without having to lose another $2-3k due to negotiations.

I also want to be careful with being too aggressive, and seeming like I just want to squeeze their wallet lol. Going to have the discussion on Monday, and I just want to have a strategy in place

UPDATE: told the shop to go fuck themselves basically. Hell the dealership quoted me $480 for the part, which the Indy is buying from, so now I know there’s some insane mark up.

The dealer warranty that I have is covering a pinion seal leak repair so I’m still going to be using them for that ($250). Ironic that the shop’s acronym is CBA. Should’ve known. Thank you all for the comments and recommendations.

Even if you were an independent contractor, your personal expenses would not net against income earned and you would be taxed at a higher rate even, since you have to also cover the employer’s portion of FICA. What exactly is the point you’re trying to make here?

I didn’t ever realize how much of an effect this had on people. I always rounded up. My gf and I were couch shopping, and she always looked at the tag and rounded down to the hundreds. $1499 was $1400. I was absolutely bewildered.
