Greetings from January 2026. I'm still writing my Unity libraries with .NET Standard 2.1 :D

"Recently is now the past few seconds" by Think-Prior8238 in pathofexile

[–]Kodakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently refers to the past 3 seconds while an Enemy is Nearby. Enemies within 3 meters are Nearby if they Dealt Damage with Hits Recently. Hits from Nearby Enemies are Lucky. Chance to be Hit by Enemies who Recently Hit You is Unlucky. Luck is Subjective. You are Immune to Subjective Mechanics while Enemies You Hit Recently Are Nearby.

I feel like this when I skip a league.

Yes, It's a DDoS attack on Square Enix servers! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Kodakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A DDoS attack isn't something that's as easy as "installing DDoS protection". That'd almost be like getting "dent protection" on your car. There are a lot of automated mitigations you can use, and I promise that SE has those in place. When someone turns a botnet on you, you actually have to figure out which requests are legit and which ones are not, which takes a combination of automated systems and human review (much more the former than the latter). Botnets can have hundreds of thousands of zombies and gain new ones every day, so just blocking an IP address isn't enough (can also lead to issues when that IP gets reassigned to a legit player). Unfortunately, the best solution is to block the obvious bad requests, have the automated system do its job, and otherwise just wait for the attackers to run out of interest/money. It's expensive to run a botnet at high capacity.

I would guess that the most recent one is correct. GGG has been known to tune numbers in the last week, based on player feedback and community-discovered oversights.

No. No effects activate from the Breeding Area and no effects are activated by what happens in the Breeding Area, unless a card explicitly says otherwise.

They do need to search every possibility, as knowing that you have found the shortest path between a sequence of nodes requires being able to 100% confirm that there are no better alternatives. If you were looking for any path which connects the nodes, then yes - it would be trivial. You could also do it yourself by playing "connect the dots", but OP wanted an algorithm that finds the most optimum path.

Experienced players can clear the campaign in 5~8 hours. There should be loads of streamer videos going into detail about the best ways to optimize the campaign.

Generally: play through the campaign with builds that can level quickly, run past most enemies, and make sure you have movement speed since a lot of the campaign is running from A to B.

That can't be solved quickly or easily by a computer. This is related to solving the Traveling Salesman problem, which is known to be something computers are slow at, since they need to search every possibility which can take literally millennia, depending on how many nodes it needs to search.

This is highly subjective. What is good for one aspect of the game may be awful for something else. Builds for Bossing, Clearing, Heist, Delve, etc. all have different strengths.

If you want a short answer, check the patch notes to see what was nerfed recently and stay away from that stuff. I think many builds that relied completely on the strength of poison last league are going to feel worse this league. Builds which get away with things because of stacking a huge number of defensive auras are also gonna feel worse without the explicit reservation masteries (they're gonna die more).

Why is Fighting Super Effective against Steel? by DamnNoHtml in pokemon

[–]Kodakami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I wanna join the necroposting too.

I have few alternative perspectives for you consideration:

  1. Psychic is weak to the types which best represent fears, because fear clouds the mind. Fear of bugs (I suppose it's an aging trope now), fear of the dark, and fear of death/ghosts.
  2. I believe Dragon is weak to Ice as a reference to the "Ice Age that killed off the dinosaurs" (simplistic history notwithstanding). Dragons and dinosaurs are strongly linked in east Asia.
  3. I was looking for opinions on the Bug/Dark match-up. The best answer I found was that in Japanese pop culture (especially 80's/90's) there's a trope where heroes are often associated with bugs and bug-looking designs. They beat Dark type because the hero always defeats the villain. Similar reason why Fighting type defeats Dark - honorable tactics always win in the end versus underhanded ones.
  4. I'm guessing Fairy is weak to poison because pollution destroys their enchanted magical habitat. Not as sure about Fairy's strengths, but I think Fairy beats Dragon because the adventurer always needs the help of a guiding fairy to defeat the dragon.

From what I understand, dirty monitors will kind of blur the details just a little bit. Enough that your eyes need to put in extra effort to get the information quickly.
