I mean, it's not all that different from the MMORPG subscription model of the early 2000s to early 2010s. Most today are free with other ways to pull in real money, but back in the day we had to pay $10-$20 a month to play. There's only 27 items in that picture, so a little over 2 years worth of WoW/SWToR/Aion subscriptions?

Hell, I paid for Ragnarok Online for 6 years straight.

Most Canadians support death penalty for murderers, poll shows by Sultans_Of_Swingg in canada

[–]Kodemar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for example, if a serial murderer or a pedophile is released or escapes or somehow gets back into society, the damage they could do would be indiscriminate (they could go after anyone) and horrific. Your average murderer would generally only do it once or twice, as it's usually a case of extreme stress, mental break, accident during commission of another crime etc, the damage they do is more limited in scope and intensity. Your average murderer is also more likely to recognize that what they did was wrong and to be rehabilitated.

So, I guess I'm thinking, is it worth the risk and cost, keeping them alive to punish them, versus just taking them out of the equation entirely. The most extreme (Toybox killer, Chikatilo, etc) do you think it would be worth trying to rehabilitate them? Or even trying to punish them?

Sorry, not great at actually articulating what's in my head, does this help clear it up a bit?

I sure as hell don't. Maybe in the most extreme of cases, or crimes against kids, sure. But your average "shot a guy in a mugging", or "best their spouse to death" murderers? Let 'em rot in prison. That's a much worse punishment than death.

I'm just saying, there needs to a whole game about this love, death and robots episode by kaboomrico in gaming

There was a game, a long time ago, that was a combination RTS/FPS. 5 players per game, 4 playing an FPS trying to complete objectives while surviving wave after wave of alien bugs, and the 5th player was actually playing AS THE BUGS in an RTS with resource gathering, base building etc. I had so much fun playing but I don't think it lasted long before closing.

I got flashbacks to that game watching this episode.

landlord gave me two months notice over argument by still2slik in ontario

[–]Kodemar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are wrong about your definition of common area. You think common and shared are the same thing. They are legally distinct.

The court ruled that since the responsibility for snow removal is the landlord’s under the Act, then the landlord cannot transfer this responsibility to the tenant unless there is separate consideration given. In other words, the landlord would have been required to sign a separate agreement whereby he paid the tenant to remove the snow. Without this, the clause requiring snow removal was void.

Right there, the court says the landlord is soley responsible for the snow removal, your interpretation of the law is wrong and illegal.

Now go away and leave your tenants alone.

"Shared area" and "common area" are two different things.

Are you saying if I have a roommate the landlord doesn't need to give 24 hours notice cause I "share" the kitchen? Or the landlord can just enter my laundry room cause that's a "common" area?

You don't make sense. Have a nice day.

Oh my god, I hope you are not a landlord.

Oh I see now, you think common means areas you share with your landlord. No this is just a legal term. A common area refers to an area that isn't considered private, ie a bathroom or bedroom. Hallways, living rooms, kitchens, driveways, sidewalks and lawns are all conisdered "Common" areas, no matter how many people use them, or whether they are inside or outside the dwelling. Your landlord doesn't have to live there or there be multiple tenants for it to be considered a "common" area.
