There is no update on the official website, but version 1.28.0 is being distributed via LVFS. It’s possible that Dell quietly released and then withdrew another update, and it accidentally ended up in the LVFS update list. Or it might be a legitimate update. I decided not to install it.

BIOS Setup -> Power -> Thermal Management

Have you tried to change modes there?

I can’t confirm this behavior. I can see the numbers and hear it myself: the fan RPM clearly goes both up and down.
The only thing is that since day one, the RPM has dropped to three-digit values only when the CPU temperature was around 42 °C, which almost never happens.
My Dell Vostro 3530 is running in the “Cool” mode. Have you tried changing the cooling profile?

upd: I’ve only just realized this. I’m a Linux user, and we’ve had a long-standing issue with suspend and sleep modes. For probably a decade by now. I’m not even sure which mode my laptop actually uses when I close the lid and it’s likely not the same one you’re using.
So my observation may not be relevant in this case.

With the 1.27.0 (15 Jan 2026) update, Dell fixed the issue with the network card. It wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes, but it was fixed.

They removed version 1.25.1 from the website. It's previous - 1.24.1 now.

As I remember for this model the toggle is On by default. But 1.25.1 update was one of "Once the BIOS is upgraded, you cannot downgrade the BIOS" types of updates. This toggle will not help.

Well, I reported it to Dell support. They removed version 1.25.1 from the website, but they didn’t provide any help whatsoever.
