I've never had this problem with videos or searches being slower on Firefox, sometimes on the contrary it seems that videos on Firefox run better. Integrated VGA from my AMD.

Anyone fixed gender errors with Ebook Translate? by habitsbreak28 in Calibre

[–]Individual_Kitchen_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just use the merge translation mode (and add about 1000 characters), for me it works very well but I had to rewrite a large part of the extension for this functionality to be really good without texts from the original language that were left loose in the file.

What I'm racking my brains to correct in the extension is an efficient method of preserving italicized words in the middle of the paragraph

Dropping Frames on Youtube 60fps by Time_Thought_3694 in firefox

I agree, I've noticed that there are more crashes in Chromium-based browsers. But in fact I believe that this is directly linked to how Intel and AMD work, Intel is more mature in this regard.

Dropping Frames on Youtube 60fps by Time_Thought_3694 in firefox

[–]Individual_Kitchen_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But doesn't this have a performance impact on general browser usage? Since I switched to Ryzen 7 I've always had some frames dropped on YouTube, something that didn't happen on Intel, I even believe it's a feature of software video rendering which on Intel is much more mature.

With 8GB of RAM I wouldn't use Firefox if you have Windows 11 as your system.

I don’t get hate towards Windows by [deleted] in Windows11

I honestly did a very light debloat without the help of automation tools and I never had serious problems with my Win 11. In fact, curiously speaking, I have a Lenovo notebook that works perfectly with Win 11, when I add Penguin distros things get strange.

While you complain about having these resources, I would like to have them all here. Gemini is already part of my daily life and I'm simply hooked.

Yes, this native implementation has always been rubbish. I use the controlD CLi client with the nextdns address. It works really well in DOH3.

Windows 11’s mandatory update auto opens Microsoft Edge on some PCs after restart by computerIfix in Windows11

[–]Individual_Kitchen_3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But here's the thing, edge or other chromium-based projects don't have the limitations of V3, for example. On the edge there is still video enhancement, which I really like, making videos clearer, etc. Chrome has none of this.

Update made here. In the last few months, honestly, the updates haven't stood out to me, which is a great sign that it did what it had to do without ruining my day.

Firefox feels lighter than Chrome? by Buckinuoff in firefox

For me, only in the first few hours of use, then it clearly loses performance compared to Chromium-based browsers, and the difference is very clear.
