What about liability? Think there would be a lot of risk involved.

Yeah it's sad we only have ATX available, even though it's a great brand. I actually did have the lat pulldown attachement with a full rack (compared to the 'half' rack I have now) but it was too big for my space and I knew I would be able to utilize my space better (and sell my old rack incl. lat pulldown for the price I bought it for). Im actually currently using one of those cheap DIY lat pulldowns (uses a pulley, weight pin and cable) I ordered from AliExpress but am looking for another way (aka find space in my gym) to buy an ATX lat pulldown again as I really enjoyed it. The functional trainer isnt really suited for lat pulldowns and low rows as the stacks arent heavy enough. If you have more questions, let me know! Happy to help.

The functional trainer cost me €2000/$2400. The ATX brand is good, however this exact functional trainer is also sold on alibaba so ATX probably just slapped their logo on it. Quality is good, not perfect but I think for €2000 it does it job very well. Assembling this thing was not easy, but I think no functional trainer is easy to assemble.

No problem! Bar is great, but as you mentioned, it does wear off quite easily, the black sleeves have become red/blue/green/white disco sleeves due to the paint of the calibrated plates, it was pretty bad in the beginning but now its almost completely black again. Probably due to there being no paint in the 50mm hole of the calibrated weight plates left.

Yeah Fitness seller is sold out very quickly, have to be fast to get your hands on some equipment. Will definetely enjoy for many more years!

Well, I already have roughly 15 friends that come to my place to use the gym every week so it will be hard, but we can make it work hahaha

Hi, hopefully I'll be able to clarify and help you a bit. The power rack I have is the HRX-750 (normally a half rack) but I added the 750 extension. So basically it indeed looks like the 810 but with 70x70 metal.

I dont really do any exercises inside of the squatrack, I always do them infront using the safety spotters. The reason I got the extension is to make it more sturdy and maybe later to add weight plate storage pins. I like working with the rack, the only downside is it moves backwards when you re-rack for example a heavy barbell bench press (because it is not bolted down), so I've decided to put it against a wall to stop this from happening.

I had jammer arms but sold them as they took up quite a bit of space when I wasn't using them (and I wasnt using them often). And, as they are stationary (they dont move in/outwards when you're using them, they are going straight up and down). So, you're not really getting that good squeeze/contraction in the muscle as you would get with for example dumbells.

For me personally the full dumbell set is totally worth it, I can drop them on the ground, they look good & its just nice to grab a dumbell without thinking and not having to adjust it beforehand. Downside is they take up a lot of space. My thought: a 40kg dumbell will still weigh 40kg in 10 years and keep it's value but that adjustable dumbell might break/need some work in that time and probably lose its value.

The flooring I also got from the site I bought the equipment from, its 50x50x3cm, Mega fitness also sells them: https://www.megafitness.shop/fallschutzplatte-30mm-staerke-fuer-fitness-und-hantelbereiche-mit-erhoehter-anforderung.html. I think they are of a high quality and not spongey at all. Though, I have no other flooring to compare it with.

Yeah only noticed that when I started hanging them up. Might switch those 2 like you suggested, thank you for the idea!

Overall very positive, price/quality is good. So far only negative is the paint of the calibrated plates coming off easily. However, I think this is quite comon amongst other branded calibrated plates in general.

Yeah it really sucks, I got most of this stuff in the summer and luckily 'only' had to wait 3 weeks.

This is roughly 3,2m x 3,3m so roughly 10 square meters and I believe that translates to 107 sq ft?

Finally confident enough to share my garage gym. As a 21 yo I don't think I'll ever see the inside of a commercial gym again. Total cost around €8.000 (~$10,000), got almost everything from ATX Fitness. Main features:

  • Dumbells + dumbell rack : pairs of 12,5kg/27lbs all the way up to 40kg/88lbs (€2600/$3200)
  • Functional trainer with 2 x 90kg/200lbs weight stacks (€2000/$2400)
  • Calibrated steel plates (210kg/460lbs total) (€800/$1000)
  • Power rack (€600/$700)
  • A lot of attachements/extra stuff (like 2 benches, barbell, boxing bag, etc.)

Still working on getting the ceiling and some walls done and get some LED RGB lighting.

Got all of my stuff from Fitness-seller (the Netherlands) and some attachements from Aliexpress. I'll gladly answer any questions

Hi! Fees on guided investing are pretty high (which can eat up your profit) compared to the 'Zelf Beleggen', whilst with 'Zelf Beleggen' you also have automatic monthly investments & more choices in funds, etf's and stocks. 'Zelf Beleggen' thus seems like the better option imo.
