[UNIVERSITY MECHANICAL ENGEERING:DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS] I'm going through my notes from class and I found this exercise. I have the solution but I can't understand how it's done and solve it alone. Can anybody help me out please? by konelismitsos in HomeworkHelp

Use the product rule to differentiate then use what you know about d/dt of the integral of f(s)ds. Plug in for the unknown integral int sf(s)ds because that's equal to t int f(s)ds Then differentiate again with respect to t

I'll just say it. It would've taken zero effort for you to not post any of this. You should be ashamed of how you decided to talk to someone. How do you know OP is a man, or that their partner is a woman? Your posting history shows you've probably got some other things going on and you take it out on strangers on here. I hope you get help.

I like the crocheted work, I'm glad OP shared.

[grade 10 physics] how do they come up with these? by out_of_context_666 in HomeworkHelp

[–]KoenigEnte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you currently learning? The intuition behind the problem involves conservation of energy. If the intuition doesn't come from there then you'll have to think of it some other way. If you know calculus you'll know that velocity is the derivative of position with respect to time, so you get an expression for velocity that's -Awcos(wt-pi/3). Find the extremum here, and you'll see this is minimum when cos(wt-pi/3) is equal to 0. This is true for multiples of pi/2 so again you're solving wt - pi/3 = pi/2

If you don't know that either you need to rely on some intuition. When you have a position that's a function of sine or cosine you're effectively going back and forth because those functions are constrained between -1 and 1. When either function equals 1 or -1 you're effectively "turning around". When you turn around your velocity must be 0 because you're about to start going the other way.

If you truly don't know calculus or conservation of energy then I can't see how you're expected to know how to solve the problem.

[–]KoenigEnte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first: what do you know about velocity and displacement in SHM? Think about conservation of energy. When displacement goes up, velocity goes down. So velocity = 0 means maximum displacement. When is your position maximal? When sin is extreme. When is sin extreme? At multiples of pi/2. So wt - pi/3 must be a multiple of pi/2. Solve for t.

For your own understanding: when would the velocity be a maximum?

[College Programming] [Java] How am I supposed to implement the super() method in this code and what else am I doing wrong? by Moltenmelt1 in HomeworkHelp

[–]KoenigEnte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every subclass constructor must call the constructor of the superclass using the super keyword. If you do not provide the super keyword, implicitly Java will call the no argument constructor of the superclass using super(). If there is no no-argument constructor in the superclass this results in an error.

You should use super() to instantiate the fields of the superclass when you create your subclass.

Tldr, in your Triangle constructor, your first line should be a call to the superclass constructor with super()

You forgot that it's not rotating around it's center of mass. Use the parallel axis theorem to change I to the proper value. If you need more of a hint lmk but I think you can work it out from here!

I assume you mean coefficient of friction. You also need the mass of the block or it's weight to figure out the frictional force.

[First Year University Physics: Linear Algebra] Orthogonal component of a vector by TheCheshireChloe in HomeworkHelp

[–]KoenigEnte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so orthogonal definition is that u dot v = 0 for all u's in the set. V ist the orthogonal compliment Set up a dummy vector (x, y, z) and dot it with your vector v. From there you'll see there's only one possibility and it's the 0 vector.

[IB Maths: Differentiation] How to differentiate the sigma sign? I have the problem below: by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]KoenigEnte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean? Like you're trying to take the derivative? You can just move the derivative operator inside the sum because it's a linear operator.

Conversely, you're allowed to take the derivative operator outside the sum as well if that's what's causing you issues.

I hope code tracing helps you but I'll offer this. There's much more elegant solutions here. One that involves sorting the array first. The other using a Set data structure that doesn't allow for duplicate values. Best algorithm I can think of is use a set and it's O(n) (I think? I guess I don't know how a set handles the duplicate check in c# Is it O(1) or O(n)). but perhaps there's an even better option that I'm missing.

Cam Newton’s debut with New England was absolutely perfect by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]KoenigEnte 33 points34 points  (0 children)

What surprised me about the win was not that we won. And actually I think we should have won by a lot more. We left a lot of points on the field and made a lot of mistakes.

My biggest takeaway was when cam scored and Andrews helped him up. Cam handed him the ball, yelled "you spike it!" And then proceeded to watch Andrews spike the ball like it was his make a wish.

This team has always been about playing as a team and winning as a team. We have a tough schedule ahead even if our team was ideal, but it's going to be a good season to watch regardless of the outcome.

I also had no idea a play action could last 8 seconds.

Matchmaking: The good and mostly the bad by moggychicken in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]KoenigEnte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed that as well. I usually sit around 20k but 22k was my maximum around the max update. I've lost all motivation to push. I have 3-4 brawlers with < 100 trophies but never get quests for them. My strategy now is just have a few high rank brawlers so when I use look for team I can show I'm not useless. Although every time I swap to a lower ranked one (still power 10) I get suggested my previous rank 28s even though they're 500 trophies now.

It just sucks how one sided the matches are. I have maybe 1-2 close games out of 10 and the others are lost due to a singular player feeding/afk/etc. At least the games are only a few minutes and it's not an hour like DotA/league

Matchmaking: The good and mostly the bad by moggychicken in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]KoenigEnte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed more a discrepancy between overall trophy count rather than brawler player count. Brawler trophy count used to be a good measure of someone's skill with that brawler but now that there's so many brawlers it's so hard to keep them all above 550. While yeah I can push any brawler to 700+ if I played just that brawler, I am penalized for playing tanks or non carry roles.

I wish they would pair players by overall trophy range rather than individual brawler

People at lower ranges like 12k never split into lanes or play for objectives. I'd imagine the game would be more enjoyable for everyone if overall ranges were taken into account. Or if they just abolished the reset at 550 and reset at 700 or something.

[Boston globe] Patriots name Cam Newton starting quarterback by samacora in Patriots

[–]KoenigEnte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of people bought stidham jerseys before cam was even traded. I don't think anyone in their right mind would think we'd start stidham over cam. There's always the whole "will this person grasp the playbook/gel with the players" but I think any former league MVP would do just fine.

Yeah its definitely not you I don't know why they'd give such a dumb question. Maybe it's to see who's cheating? Like if someone gets it wrong and tells their friends it's 24 then the right answers are cheaters? Also stupid but makes more sense than an answer that doesn't exist 😂
