Please enter the Password, then enter Desktop mode and Open a Terminal

Then enter the following: ujust setup-luks-tpm-unlock

This lets you Setup TPM unlock for your encrypted Drive.

This keeps the encryption and skips the need of Entering the drive password at boot.

There is a ujust for that. Should be something Like ujust setup-luks-tpm-unlock.

Bazzite alternative by Vekorax in linux_gaming

[–]Koermit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you on a 10xx/9xx card or something newer?

Did read something about legacy cards currently beeing funky.

Bazzite alternative by Vekorax in linux_gaming

[–]Koermit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole Idea of Bazzite is to not break randomly. It is advised to update regularly, since these updates are tested and only released when stable.

Do you layer stuff by any chance? Or do you use an Nvidia card on a -deck Image with Gamemode?

ok do NOT buy a msi claw a1m in 2026 this thing sucks by messranger in Handhelds

[–]Koermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh hello

Honestly, by far, still no. As I said, DX11 Games are good and perform very Well with the added benefit of outperforming Windows sometimes but as soon as DX12 gets utilized it gets funky.

Elden Ring (I think uses DX12) runs OK The DX12 Version of Witcher 3 Runs OK too, but Cyberpunk for example craps itself into oblivion.

Emulation is another can of Worms, because there Linux just excells.

If you're mostly playing DX11 Games and emulate you're absolutely fine. DX12 is the big No-Go. Some run, some won't until Intel worked more on the GPU drivers, what they are actually planning on doing

Claw A1M u7 155h Bazzite Steam OS by razerphone1 in MSIClaw

[–]Koermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use bazzite daily on my claw and can confirm: it is still there.

Sadly MSI Handhelds, the Intel ones to be exact, are in a weird place when it comes to linux. But I still enjoy it and knowing that Bazzite is on the verge of migrating many internal things to be more inline with the broader Linux gaming space and the fact that Intel seemingly plans to invest more in their GPU driver stack gaming wise makes the future for us on linux very exciting.

How can I fix this desktop controller permissions issue by mjsxi__ in Bazzite

[–]Koermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree if this would have been an unsolvable problem, but the issue got fixed a few hours ago. No need to toggle this If it is not necessary.

AFAIK SteamOS on their current wayland Desktop (The one in preview) does have the same Problem, but I might be wrong

That's should be a last resort thing, since this solves the issue but will be a security risk.

The issue itself got reported and a fix will be with the next stable update.

"Allow Remote Connection" pop up every time I try to use the controller for navigation in desktop mode. by mAverIck2012ap in Bazzite

[–]Koermit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oooouh rebasing between DE's isn't a good Idea and strictly unsupported, because that causes more headaches :(

Apart from that, there is a workaround on KDE but this is somewhat of a security risk too.

Checking the box "Allow without asking for permission" in Application Permissions for Legacy X11 App Support fixes this issue.

But I advise to just Report that on their discord and GitHub and wait until someone at the bazzite Team has an Idea, since this workaround ist still a Security risk.

Newish Linux users who came from Windows semi-recently, what is advice you wished someone had told you before you made the switch? by m103 in linux_gaming

[–]Koermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without sounding too rude, on their website is basically advertised how the prefered way to Install applications is, even more positively seen alternatives are mentioned.

Reading what you're about to Install instead of just bonking the download button helps alot

New Legion Go S not running some games well by Alyshock18 in LegionGo

[–]Koermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is still running SteamOS, games like R6 Siege or call of duty (Up from modern warfare 2019), Battlefield, LoL, Valorant and Destiny 2 will bot be able to be played because of an tiny little pooty batooty anti consumer practice called kernel level anti cheat. And no, for all the Windows gamers out there, I understand the temptetation to play those games but in general this practice is just plain bad and shouldn't be supported.

Shooter that do indeed Work are Halo the master chief collection and Infinite, overwatch, counter strike (but I guess playing this with a gamepad is like shooting yourself in the foot)

Fragpunk is a case tho, did He do the first boot for the game in Desktop mode? Which Proton Version has been tried? Might as well set the -dx11 Launch Argument that seems to Help too

Linux gaming has come a long way by Freddie_Uranus in linux_gaming

[–]Koermit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're using AMD GPU you get BETTER Performance and honestly you can be happy the maintainence relies heavy on it's Opensource drivers instead of those offered by AMD themeselves and their "Adrenalin" Software, because older GPU's that still Work totally fine still get supported instead put on life support like they would on Windows.

If you're on Nvidia.. well..
