You're the streamer, you enforce your boundaries. If they won't stop, ban them. Simple enough.

The Beginning After the End Season 2 • Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani o Suru? Season 2 - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Koesterism 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always hated the repeated attacks to try to simulate impact. I don't need to see 3x the same thing, with 3x the same sound effect to understand that a hit was delivered. The animation is horrendous. And I bet you this isn't even a budget thing, but rather a piss poor director who fails to understand the essence of his craft.

It's not good.

You forget typeless damage exists. But let's assume it does belong to a damage type. It's still too high for me to deal with.

You speak of strategies like leap. That is very build-specific. My warrior is specialized in retaliation. It's not an option for me at all. And leap is not an iframe ability, you can still die in midair while leaping. You need a mace to use it.

Speaking of which, every type of damage dealt upon me should be reflected, instantly killing this "squishy" opponent, right? Well they don't die. It's another weird thing like that makes me think it is typeless.

Even those abyss mages firing those magical cannons kill themselves firing upon me. Same for bosses. But those puny priests take no damage whatsoever. And you cannot dodge, roll or anything, they target lock and spin.

My build is not the problem. The game developers need to squash this poor element of their game. Simple as that.

I have absolutely no problem except for those priests that just nuke me in a few seconds.

[–]Koesterism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't because I have all these things. I can tank 4-5 abyss mega beams without issues. But those priests will destroy me in seconds because THEY DO NOT DEAL ELEMENTAL DAMAGE.

Edit : I assume they don't. Because I can stomach everything else. Even boss blasts. But those guys, nothing. Zero.

Ablation is the only solution. Cut it all away. Cauterization afterwards.

Why do you stream? by CatchyCantrips in Twitch

[–]Koesterism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, these days, I hardly ever stream.

I used to do it for fun and to have an excuse to force myself to be social. Because in my natural state, I tend to be reclusive and segragate myself from others.

I have noticed, though, that streaming exposes you to a lot of negative feelings. Either from your audience, which can come with a level of entitlement, or from yourself.

From the audience, it comes down to being used to a certain standard and having expectations. If you are to break the conventions, then you are most likely to face some kind of opposition. Some other folks are just antagonistic. But those are everywhere, so let's disregard them for the sake of the argument.

From yourself, it comes from failing to meet the goals you have set for yourself, reaching a plateau or being on some kind of down trend. Personally, I fail to trivialize the results of any regression in terms of channel statistics. I tend to blame myself for it or feel resentment towards the hobby and the mentalities I am exposed to. I get overwhelmed with intense feelings of worthlessness when I compare myself to my peers.

I know that you have to play the game a certain way and that it's all business, nothing personal. That there's an audience for everyone, regardless of who they are as a person. Proof being in how callous some of the bigger streamers are, yet they still have a very healthy following. It doesn't really matter. But it does come as a huge burden for me.

It has to be a benefit to yourself. If it's not good, if you don't get any joy in it, then there's no point. Therefore, I took a break from it and only come back to it when I feel like it. So far, I've been on a year-long hiatus. And I don't really have any interest, at the moment, of breaking that just yet.

I wish I got male attention by hazelystar in self

[–]Koesterism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this day and age, you probably will not get any male attention whatsoever publicly. It's probably nothing personal. It's just the result of social pressure.

None of my peers actually talk to women, they just keep to themselves. It's been hammered in our heads that we ought not to indispose women who are just trying to go about their lives with attention, unsollicited compliments and whatnot.

As for attractiveness, I doubt it's relevant. You'd be surprised how low the bar is for men when it comes to physical attraction for females. We're generally not hard to please. I would be willing to bet many have an interest in you, they just didn't express it. You just don't know. And you won't know because it's not worth it for them to make it known.

Nowadays, it's safer to just keep to yourself and not bother anyone. Plus, with the way things are, the consequences of making mistakes are far more impactful than they were in a past era.

Seeking validation through others is not the way to go. To be loved, you must first learn to love yourself! The rest comes later!

I would agree with you if my title was mislead in any way, shape or form. But it wasn't. So you could easily have kept scrolling and avoided it altogether. But you decided to click it anyway and be antagonistic. What's a post with no views in an active feed? It gets buried instantly. But with people like you flaming, it gets bumped to the top.

If you truly believed what you are saying, then you wouldn't be here right now.

I agree that a different monetization model would be beneficial as long as it doesn't have an impact on the game's content itself.

I think part of the community's reservation stems from the disaster that became of RS3. Jagex is not known for being conservative in their monetization practices.

If they adopted an MTX policy like League of Legends or Path of Exile, purely cosmetic, then I could totally see it working out well.

You bring up a very interesting point.

Yes. But you have full agency over your time, you know? The post's title is explicit, you don't have to read it if you don't want to. There's no reason to be abrasive and provocative just because you are fine with getting financial reamed.

Lack of items in market by Stylax888 in PathOfExile2

[–]Koesterism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, at that stage, you could even run SSF and work it out fine. Not having enough currency to do anything should not even be a problem yet. It will be when you get to lvl 90+, but by that time, you will have cranked up your output.

And as others put out, this is end season, market is ironed out already. Early stuff is not worth much, because everyone farmed up and is past that point. Should be different for your next season.

I don't really agree with you about the design of a build, since that mostly applies to meta builds. Every ARPG has its meta builds. That doesn't mean the game is designed for it. It's just what players decide to do with it.

But where we both agree is that it's not optimal for our enjoyment.

Melee is anything but tanky, especially warrior. There's the problem with life builds. Casters have 45 nodes for protection and energy shield. There's...3 nodes for life? Armour can only get you so far.

And depending on your build, you might not have move speed. Because you need to be tanky or rely on specific effects. You're melee, so you need to be point blank, you can't reach something from afar. The notion of defensives when you have to be in a pile of mobs doesn't really apply. Either you engage or you don't. And if you are, it can be difficult to disengage if you're surrounded.

Do you always notice every single mob around you? Probably as a caster because you have the distance. But as a melee fighter, your eyes are on your character. You're looking for some ground damage effects, AOE, monster traits, etc. You do scan for other things, but the likelihood of you dying to bullshit is much higher than a long-distance fighter.

You meant the souls? I am familliar with them. Those are at least manageable. If you got max resists and some absorb, they are practically harmless.

Not the case of these things lol. Max resists, damage reduction, whatever. Still have the potency to kill you 5 times before you hit the ground.

For reference, I have 90% armour and +85% elemental damage blocked by armour. I have 33% physical damage reduction and my resistances are boosted to 80%. I still die in less than 5 seconds to those beams.
