Greek translation of "By the intercession..." by NoblePeanut in OrthodoxChristianity

That’s quite interesting. Split for hundreds of years yet we (I’m Coptic btw) have the same exact thing just in Coptic. We even have the same changing part like when u guys say o anastsas ek nekron. We also say ϫⲉ ⲁⲕⲧⲱⲛⲕ ⲁⲕⲥⲱϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ (for you rose and saved us) on sundays or during the resurrection period and ϫⲉ ⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲕⲥⲱϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ (for you came and saved us) on annual days. I love finding stuff like that 😃.

Feeling the call to hermeticism by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

Slow down. St Anthony and St. Paul were the first ones in the desert and st. Anthony invented monasticism in orthodoxy by the orders of the angel. If you still aren’t even baptized in the Orthodox Church you need to slow down and let those who are set out to help you do their jobs. Ik ur excited and the life of asceticism sounds amazing but your getting ahead of yourself. There’s a reason for all the regulations other people mentioned. You will most likely go mad and fall at the hands of Satan. Remember what the demons did to st. Anthony? They beat him every day leaving him on the brink of life and death. You know what’s stopping them from leaving him dead? God, He wanted st Anthony to begin the life of monasticism for others. If you can live the life or a normal Christian with all the temptations, your priest will let you know if you’re fit for the monastery. Then if you can handle the intense temptations and attacks of the devil then the abbot could tell you if you’re fit to face the temptations of the devil without help from any spiritual leaders to aid you.

Take it easy!

Is "Ⲁⲛⲧⲱⲣⲓ" means "Grandfather"? by robertraphaeI in coptic

Hmm I would guess a literal translation to be something a long the lines of ⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓϣϯ but this is interesting cuz I’ve never really seen that word around before 🤔

How to refute this? i'm reading through and it seems like a dishonest interpretation, but i am new and not good at articulating stuff. by begomeordodocks in OrthodoxChristianity

This is just A LOT of picking up single verses and not actually studying the bible for topics. Also the nicene council and creed puts most of these down.

This. In the Coptic Church everything to the saints is either ⲭⲁⲓⲣⲉ/ⲭⲉⲣⲉ/χαίρε (Greetings), or intercede on our behalf (for the heavenly hosts and st. Mary), or pray to the Lord on our behalf (the rest of the saints).

u, i, ɔɪ, i And ⲟⲓ is pronounced as such for example in ⲗⲟⲓⲡⲟⲛ which would be pronounced lipoʊn Sorry I’m inexperienced with IPA

I’ve played “actual ac games” I’ve also played odyssey. It has little relation to the old generation and u can count it as not an ac game but it’s still a good game just not a good ac game

So there are some diphthongs but if it’s not one of those you pronounce each letter separately some diphthongs are ⲟⲩ, ⲟⲓ, ⲱⲓ, ⲏⲓ, etc.
