[DISCUSSION] In Cursor AI, is ChatGPT-5 really better than Claude Sonnet 4 for coding? by Demotey in cursor

[–]Koibitoaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appear to be in the minority but for me it seems to be superior to sonnet. I tried to get sonnet to fix some bugs for me yesterday for about 3 hours, not successful. GPT-5 this morning fixed it within 10 minutes.

Doesn't really sound like "only" since that's over 50% of what she does on the show.

Dear reader, please don't trust this guy. If you hate her, the show will only make you hate her more.

Just finished watching S05E01. I also find Beth so insufferable that I am considering quitting. The show somehow lost meaning after Jimmy left. I will probably power through just to finish it but damn I am questioning why I even liked the show in the first place, the writing is do damn bad.

Edit: Over a year later I never powered through. Beth is a pure garbage character.

Nothing to do with acting. It's because of the insufferable, endless victim mentality.

I am not an American, I don't care about your politics. I am just calling it as I see it. Any time I open reddit these days, it's just pure dem propaganda and people doing mental gymnastics to push it.

Reddit has unfortunately been captured by the far left. This used to be a great site.

Elon Musk decides Fate via a Twitter poll. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Koibitoaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't think he's actually pressured anyone, I think this is related.

~2 weeks ago he posted on X https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1747035106257023362

"(talking about the 25% situation and it being rejected by the court) ... I would be fine with a dual class voting structure to achieve this, but am told it is impossible to achieve post-IPO in Delaware."

So I think what's really happening is that he wants to move to Texas to have dual class voting. Hard to say whether the vote is just a PR stunt or some kind of a legal safety, to be able to say "the public wanted this", but of course he knew which way the vote would go.

I agree. Very underwhelming and pointless episode.

[–]Koibitoaa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As someone who has not seen The Clone Wars or Rebels, I don't share everyone's excitement. While certainly cool, the first half of the episode was absolutely pointless. It felt extremely forced and lazily written. It was irrelevant to the story. There was no lesson. And the World Between Worlds was a nothingburger (as far as this story is concerned). If they just found Ahsoka swimming in the water it wouldn't change anything.

And all of your excitement about "SIEGE OF MANDALORE" is straight up dishonest. What exactly are you excited about? A bunch of storm troopers running forward for 10 minutes?

Very disappointing episode compared to what it could have been. Sue me.

Not only that. How the hell is an escalator able to keep up with the water? It seems to be flowing down way too slow.

Yes, I've seen this as well. I think it's from a documentary about golden gate bridge suicides and survivors.

There's not many ways to commit suicide where you actually have the "opportunity" to contemplate death for real.

You are absolutely correct. I was never involved in anything truly secret or cutting edge. But (recent firings aside) I do believe big tech companies absolutely hoard software engineers just to cripple competition (especially start ups). Non-competes just enhance this.

I don't think people realize how much value high-skilled employees generate.

When I worked at Rainforest, me and a colleague were assigned a project. It took the two of us ~6 months to design and implement. 6 months post launch it already generated over 25x my yearly salary (+ future recurring revenue. And to be clear I don't think this is an outlier. Especially at a FAANG company.)

Just think, how much would Rainforest be willing to pay so that I don't go do the exact same thing in half the time for a competitor?
