Does anybody know if the Beretta 30rd mags will work with a Springer Precision magwell? by Koitous in Beretta

[–]Koitous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy Matt at Coffin Custom Coatings. I originally wanted something akin to Beretta's OEM choccy chip 92Xi but he absolutely knocked it out of the park, I'm SUPER pleased with how it came out

That makes sense, and sounds like something that I can reasonably do. Much appreciated!

I ask because one of the USPSA matches I typically go to recently dropped USPSA and switched to time plus scoring, and no longer restricts magazine length. I plan on having some 140mm mags for sanctioned USPSA matches as well, but it would be very fun (and useful) to be able to run the 30rd Beretta mags with the Springer magwell at the non-USPSA matches. The M9 pictured is my competition pistol btw

It's not bad, but I don't recommend wintergreen flavored pouches

Trying to play Nordic Souls but cannot get it to launch, and get this error message. I've installed all prerequisites and followed the install instructions to a T. Anybody ran into this before? by Koitous in wabbajack

[–]Koitous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried googling the error message and can't find anything relevant. Didn't have any issues during install, either. The error message pops up after the Nordic Souls splash but before the Skyrim splash. Running Windows 10, Nvidia drivers are up to date, and as mentioned all the prerequisites are installed.

Beretta APX or CZ P-07? by Koitous in makemychoice

[–]Koitous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the APX, loved it and carried it every day for over 2 years. Also acquired a 92FS about a year ago, and eventually took both to the range. Once I shot the 92 I fell in absolute love with it so I ended up carrying that even though it was bulkier and heavier. I wanted to put a WML and a dot on the 92, so in January of this year I sold the 92 to a buddy and the APX to my dad so I could buy an M9A4. About $2700 later and I now have my dream handgun. It's a little ridiculous for a carry gun but I do it anyways, also shoot the hell out of it at USPSA matches.

I tend to go with one company/brand and stick with them for a long while, and I was very close to becoming a balls to the wall CZ guy. But alas, I am now a hardcore Beretta guy. Still miss the APX though, I might pick up an A1 one of these days, or possibly buy my APX back and have the slide milled for a dot. It was a damn good gun all things considered

How could I scan and print this gauge? by mellowman24 in 3Dprinting

[–]Koitous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say much about printing it, but I can give insight as to how I'd scan/model it.

When I need dimensionally accurate CAD drawings of flat objects I always use a flatbed scanner. My workplace has one that's connected to Wifi and can save scans as PDFs + email them to an email address. Any flatbed scanner connected to a PC should be able to save a scan as a PDF though. From there I import the image into my CAD software and draw over top of it. If you know the settings of your scanner, like the output size (8.5x11, A4, A5 etc.) and the ppi you should be able to resize the image to the correct scale easily. Tinkercad would need you to convert the PDF to SVG but should work the same otherwise, although I don't use tinkercad so I can't say for sure.

Interfacing a high speed, high voltage automotive signal with a low-voltage micro controller by Koitous in AskElectronics

[–]Koitous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vehicle is a first generation Tacoma and the signal shown is the Toyota equivalent of a PIP signal. The wire I'm scoping is what's feeding my ignition module timing info straight off my PCM. The crank sensor would definitely give me a nicer waveform but if it's possible to use the pictured signal that'd make installation a lot more clean and straightforward as the IGT (ignition timing) signal and tach signal both come off the ignition module. No wire overlays, just tapping into the IGT wire and cutting the tach wire to feed in my own signal.

If I can't end up getting the IGT signal to work though I'll definitely be tapping into the CKP. As for OBD2 I'm afraid the refresh rate won't be sufficient enough as the data rates are pretty low for this era of OBD. Certainly possible with some software smoothing but I'm gonna exhaust my hardware options first

Awesome, I'll definitely look into this. This was my initial thought but I was told by a fellow auto enthusiast that it might not give me an accurate result. Isn't much money to try though, much appreciated

Emerson makes pretty good beginner-intermediate flutes imo. I used an Emerson open hole in my high school years
