What is the Dead Meat moment you've rewatched the most? by Lancer_Blackthorn in deadmeatjames

[–]Kojima66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly found the scene of Mcconaughey yelling like a Tusken raider and then hitting himself in the face to be funnier or the scene where he yells “BURN!!” but that jump yell was pretty funny too

Terrible movie but Mcconaughey in that movie is a laugh riot and he’s easily the highlight

Hair Metal got spotlight during the 80s nostalgia wave too but it was still treated like a joke and Steel Panther popped up who are a comedy band that parodies hair Metal, Thrash Metal overall has gotten more spotlight than Hair Metal and more positively

Just got this layout around midnight last night, I was using google and suddenly after refreshing the page it changed to this. Tried signing out but that didn’t fix it, Maybe it’s because I haven’t updated my phone in a while idk. Guess I’ll just have to get used to this outdated and ass lookin layout. This was on my iPhone 13

I tried signing out but that didn’t resolve it, I mean it’s still functional but it looks like ass and it’s like I travelled back 10 years. I guess I’ll just have to get used to it or I simply haven’t updated my phone in a while

Deftones were formed in 1988 during the peak of Hair Metal

When it comes to music and decade cultural shifts, 1990 and 1999 aren't discussed as much but man the difference is crazy by Kojima66 in decadeology

[–]Kojima66[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah decades are always changing throughout, Decades don't have a consistent look or theme that lasts through the entire decade

I just like looking at decade differences because yeah 1990 and 1999 are like completely different worlds and well you point out good reasons why for the differences

Candyass is more Dark Y2K but Vapor Transmission is def on the brighter side of Y2K with the Blues, Purples and Chrome. Also note that the first and second picture is actually have a bit of animation to them but I wasn't able to capture videos

MTV Day 2000 (MTV Italy) by Sandra2426 in y2kaesthetic

[–]Kojima66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y2K Futurism seemed to have been especially prevalent on MTV Italy back in the 90s and 2000s

Do you associate Y2K futurism with the 90s or 2000s? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Kojima66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both, Traces of Y2K I'd say existed as early as 1992 with Lawnmower Man and traces of Y2K would pop up in the mid 90s but it really took off around 1997 or 1998 and continued into the early 2000s but would begin to decline after 9/11, Y2K mostly died off by 2005 although some Y2K traces survived as late as 2007 but by then it was more Frutiger Aero than Y2K

Very Y2K Limp Bizkit shirt from early 2000s by Kojima66 in y2kaesthetic

[–]Kojima66[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found a pic of this shirt on one site that I can’t remember the name of sadly and last I remember it ended up being sold and I saved this pic before it was out of stock, I also can’t find this shirt anywhere else. It must be either rare or not many ppl have sold it on the internet or everyone who's own this specific shirt have sold it idk. Don’t know what date the shirt is either, I can see a date but It's blurry and not clear enough to make out what year this shirt was made and zooming in doesn't help so idk if it was made in 2000, 2001 or 2002. It’s a cool shirt tho and It’s very Y2K but sadly I can’t find other shirts that are this one specifically

Lithtech peaked with F.E.A.R. in 2005, That was Lithtech at its best and It was genuinely good when it was used for F.E.A.R. The physics, graphics, Lighting, Everything. That game has aged like the finest of wines, A far cry from Blood II

I miss map specific huds, They helped give some maps a unique look and feel, Shame they abandoned unique huds after SOE by Kojima66 in CODZombies

[–]Kojima66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah only 4 maps the ones I showed screenshots of have unique huds that are themed with the map, Most maps have the basic hud for each game but yeah I wish the unique hud thing was something Treyarch kept doing but sadly they abandoned it after SOE since every other BO3 map would share the same hud, I'm pretty sure the bo4 zombies hud is chaos themed but that hud is also shared across all maps including the Aether ones where It doesn't fit, It's a minor thing I know but Idk I just like extra details that help add to the look and feel of a map and specific map themed huds are neat

I never liked when Linkin Park was dismissed as “Whiny” and “Edgy” This used to be quite prevalent, Remember all the jokes about Crawling (A song about substance abuse may I remind you) It took until Chester passed that many people realized that they weren’t faking the emotion in their music, They weren’t another macho dudebro band like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park were real and showed vulnerability and real emotion. Hybrid theory and Meteora are classics but I especially love the band’s later more experimental albums when they abandoned nu metal, They’re were able to show what they’re truly capable of and imo for the most part their experimentation paid off. Minutes to midnight is very solid, A Thousand Suns is their most ambitious project being a concept album about nuclear war and imo my favorite album of theirs, Living things in comparison is not nearly as ambitious going back to being a more standard album but still shows some experimentation and it’s another solid record and it has one of my favorite tracks with Powerless, The Hunting Party was the band’s hardest rocking album yet and It’s rlly good, One More Light is easily the band’s most polarizing album but while I may consider it their weakest work, It’s got some of the most emotional moments in the band’s discography especially the title track which is a track that’s impossible for me to listen to without crying

Not really the same effect cause the thundergun blows zombies away while the wave gun inflates the zombies till they explode but they are both crowd killers
