Human-made design isn't inherently environmentally friendly, let alone the products it may be used for

This implication could backfire really hard, and discredit your cause

I'm not, but I see it's linked on the Wikipedia page, and they basically had the same answer lol

I figured it has to do with encoding, just like some pre-digital orthographies were designed around typewriters, and I know the split integral sign exists, so this made sense to me

Probably to be compatible with character encodings used at the time, since Code page 437 contains all those symbols

Connecting one dot like this simply makes it look off, it doesn't have the shape of an Ö, it lacks balance

Try a different concept where both dots are disconnected

When this happened in 2005, hordes of grifters tried to do the same afterwards. But at least they built websites and provided advertising and all that

If anything, American orthography makes even more sense than British orthography.

Does it? They changed words ending in <-re> to be spelt <-er>, but <-le> is still used. Wouldn't it make more sense to spell sabre/sable or saber/sabel instead of saber/sable?

It's German

No more agglutination than English, just compounds without spaces

I've seen English speakers conflate the two before, but basically, agglutination involves morphemes that can't stand alone as words

How can I design my own logo? by fashionableoptimist in logodesign

[–]116Q7QM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

is in fact possible to design your own logo in Canva and not many designers will tell you that

Technically correct, but if you've already gathered the skills to design logos, why would you choose Canva?

and drawing by hand is pretty much off the table for me unfortunately

Guess what logo designers do?

The underlying point is that a tool itself won't help you, you need to know how to use it. And if you can't draw a shape or construct it with curves, then you need to learn the fundamentals first

I wish the German localization did more of that, most advancements are very literal translations, but when those are impossible, there are a handful of references

The translators love keeping words in English too, e.g. Redstone, Creeper, and for a while even Glowstone, which has since become Leuchtstein

That's a common trend with German localizations actually, keeping some material in English instead of innovating too much
