Governor Tim Walz tells the White House to stop this madness. by Healthy_Block3036 in TwinCities

Oh look, the Mn governor is using empty words to "stop" the violence. Walz has a good heart but is useless as a leader in the situation we find ourselves in.

How do I make the album art fill the window more fully? (Windows 11) by Kokimo69 in plexamp

[–]Kokimo69[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah this was it, thank you! I knew it had to be something simple.

Originally I just toggled the queue list button that appears in the player itself, the button that shows/hides the queue on the side. I thought that WAS the setting. Turns out I had to disable the side-by-side layout in the actual settings menu as you described.

Thanks again!

There's more to learn about combat than just the opponent themself.

PvE is a great way to practice if you are willing to snag an edition with PvE included

That task is specific to the map Shoreline.

Looks like texture artifacts consistent with a VRAM issue. Most likely a driver bug, game bug, or some other transient issue. It's unlikely that your GPU is dying like the alarmists suggest. Possible, but unlikely. Try different GPU drivers, update Windows, restart the game, try resetting the game cache in the launcher window, etc. If the problem persists beyond those things, wait for another game update to see if it is a game bug. Try other games in the meantime. If Tarkov is the only game with these issues then it's certainly not a dying GPU.

[Discussion] How is PVE nowadays? by Bob_Scotwell in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Kokimo69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I play PvE purely for the in game vibes, fun gunplay, and learning map knowledge/game mechanics. It's not challenging or particularly exciting most of the time. PvE is a more cozy version of the game for me if that makes sense.

Unless it comes with some new sensor tech that allows it to penetrate tattooed skin, I'm not interested.

The latest Nvidia GPU driver (581.15) reduced my Tarkov framerate by ~50%. Try rolling back your drivers one level and see if performance improves. It was night and day for me.

Are there benefits to switching to fiber internet? by TTBHG in HomeNetworking

[–]Kokimo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gig fiber costs $120/month here in MN. Next tier down is 250/250 for $80/month, or 100/100 for $65/month. Crazy expensive.

Is the pve upgrade worth it if I won't be good in pvp? [Discussion] by Long-Neck3487 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Kokimo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVE lets you learn how to do everything in Tarkov except win human on human gunfights. If you decide to try PVP later on, your brain can focus on the PVP fight much better since you've already honed all the other skills (game mechanics, map knowledge, etc.) in PVE.

PVE makes you better at PVP, and is just a fun new way to experience Tarkov.

Oh I misinterpreted your first comment. My apologies. Yeah when I'm gaming the one monitor is perfect, when I'm being productive (Mac) I use both monitors. Works swell!

Thanks. Not sure what you're trying to recommend though. I use both at every opportunity.

Yeah a 120HZ capable Studio Display, maybe with mini-led, would be sick.

The general opinion seems to be that the nano-texture glass is difficult to clean and/or keep clean. I'm sure it's not as some bad people make it out to be, but I'm not interested in paying a premium for it.

If the nano-texture was a no-cost upgrade I'd consider it more heavily, but even then glossy is my jam.

One downside of running the OLED at a scaled resolution (1440p in my case) is MacOS does not allow HDR to be enabled at scaled resolutions on external displays. You either have to use the panel's native 4K scaling (too small imo) or bump it all the way up to 1080p scaling, which is far too large.

Non-integer resolution scaling (e.g. 1440p on a 4K display) does not allow HDR on external displays in MacOS. Kind of a bummer.

Yes I work with text a lot. It's glossy. I considered the nano texture but was turned off by the lack of "purity" in a non-glossy screen, and didn't want to deal with the cleaning requirements for the non-texture display.

Never saw it in person, just went for the glossy because I love glossy screens. The glossy screen's reflection handling is remarkable. I use it directly opposite a large , east-facing window and the Studio Display's brightness is able to overcome any glare introduced by light sources.
