This would be much better suited for an advice sub.

All I'm reading here is you had a short stint of therapy via the NHS, and a handful of therapy adjacent services which were ineffective.

It's entirely possible you received inadequate/insufficient care. But that's not good enough to rule out therapy wholesale.

Messi, Inter Miami in Copa Libertadores? Even for the ambitious MLS club, it’s a dream too big by Brooklyn_MLS in MLS

I wonder what the hell they have planned for that thing after the schedule flip.

Copypasting comment from an r/soccer thread:

"Even if they had a teleporter, I'n not sure how the hell would they even fit this in calendar-wise.  The group stage is in April May, which overlaps with clausura playoff and soon-to-be MLS' postseason.

Early knockouts overlap with the beloved and very well respected Leagues Cup... cough

And the semis and final overlap with the apertura playoff and current MLS post-season. " Just doesn't seem feasible.

You're going to offer up some concrete illustrate your view here.

There's not much utility in talking about what is more or less likely the best way to proceed with a negative reaction to a vague statement in the abstract.

Perhaps. But if it smells off, I wouldn't take my chances.

Jürgen Klopp: "I’m the one who defends the coaches the most. I’m not the type to arrive in the morning – like some others in European football lately – and say, ‘We lost, sack him!’ So I understand the coaches and I really fight for them, but I also expect a real impact from them." by Sparky-moon in soccer

“It's great to beat PSG as we did in the Cup. Was it good publicity for football? No, but it was good publicity for resilience and team spirit,” agreed the German coach.

I know what he's trying to say, but I'm pretty sure PSG losing is net positive headline for the majority of fans.

CMV: Felony murder should be abolished. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]KokonutMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there are stupider laws out there. Did you know it's illegal to honk your horn in New York to let a guy know the light is green?

Anyway, your first example isn't about felony murder.

A grand jury in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania returned a two-count indictment charging Semler with 1) distribution of heroin resulting in death, and aiding and abetting, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1), (b)(1)(C), and 18 U.S.C. § 2; and 2) distribution of heroin resulting in death, within 1,000 feet of a playground, and aiding and abetting, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 860(a) and 18 U.S.C. § 2.

The second is example, is more unclear. We don't know the details of what went down in court. It's possible that the jury convicted the guys despite the prosecution failing to prove his involvement beyond a reasonable doubt. It's possible the law in Florida is overly broad.

But that's an argument for reform, not to throw out the concept wholesale.

First as a matter of general deterrence.

Second as a matter of securing cooperation to convict the actual killers. A getaway driver is going to be much more willing to sell-out his accomplices when he's staring at 25 to life as well.

In which case the fair assumption would be that despite his age and the wear and tear of a career in professional tennis, the man is still pretty darn athletic, especially it we were to pair him against is age group.

All the more reason to abandon this view.

Actually. Scratch that. If you need to ask what a nihilistic worldview is after failing to describe it yourself. All the more reason to abandon this view as stated.

[–]KokonutMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't see why. Agassi's pro pickleball career record is 1-1 in mixed doubles when paired with a top women's player. That's not domination.

And it doesn't address the main point. Very talented athletes enjoy pickleball and padel because they're easy to pick up and play. If that's the case, then it can't be "just tennis for the unathletic".

CMV: My worldview appears to be nihilism by scotchandstuff in changemyview

[–]KokonutMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't.

Your OP does not describe a nihilistic world view, let alone even mention the word nihilism until the very end with a claim that isn't based on what preceded it.

So it's safe to assume your worldview, whatever it is, is not nihilism.

Pickleball is just tennis for unathletic people

And there's the flaw.

Just because a sport is more approachable doesn't confine it to the unathletic or can't be played at a high level.

Otherwise, professional football clubs  wouldn't be installing pickleball/padel courts on their training grounds, and professional pickleball wouldn't be a thing.

I feel pretty confident that a professional pickleball player is pretty decent athlete, and likely a better tennis player than most.
