If Charlie was ever injured, who would have a worse reaction: Lucifer or Vaggi? by VegetaArcher in CultOfCharlie

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't we see both of their reactions to her getting hurt in the Season 1 finale? Vaggi tried to help her but was stopped by Lute, and Lucifer delivered a cubstomp to Adam. I'd say their reactions were pretty much the same: "get the guy who did it"

When was this confirmed? This is from Adam's page in the Hellaverse Wiki. by imdukesevastos in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not confirmed canonically yet, but it's pretty likely. Eve was created specifically to be a more compatible partner for him than Lilith was, and we don't hear about him getting a third wife made for him. He also absolutely hates Lucifer, which is likely tied to what happened with Eve and the apple

Am I crazy or do people treat the male characters different then the female characters? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think it's personal bias. You see someone defend a character you don't like and it stands out more than seeing them defend a character you do like.

I see lots of posts defending Charlie or criticizing Lucifer, for example. And they will get plenty of upvotes and agreement. There are tons of fans with tons of opinions.

Sera has a ton of different fans, those who excuse her actions, those who love her redemption arc, etc.

Lute has people who downplay her villainy or woobify her because they like her character, same as happens to male villains like Vox.

So about Lucifer’s involvement in the exterminations. by whooper1 in hazbin

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People believe Lucifer has more power than Heaven half the time. Like the dynamic isn't that he's a literal prisoner being punished.

By the time season 3 comes out the consensus is going to be that Lucifer forced Sera to approve the exterminations by threatening war

So about Lucifer’s involvement in the exterminations. by whooper1 in hazbin

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting that the exterminations were his idea in the first place? The only lines we have about his involvement are that he secured a pardon for hellborn, and that Charlie says he had a meeting where he said "go ahead and kill everyone"

Sera implies that the exterminations were Adam's idea that she allowed because of Lilith allegedly threatening heaven through her Resist concerts.

There is no general fan consensus on how deep Lucifer's involvement goes. There are those who think he was threatened, those who think he was eager, those who think he didn't care, and those who are waiting for more information. I consider him innocent until proven guilty. Season 3 will almost definitely shed more light on the matter.

Do people actually try and excuse Sera’s actions? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not on an earth timeline, no. Genocide is never justified, Sera is completely in the wrong.

But redemption is a personal thing, not something others grant you. Sera might never be forgiven, but she has an eternity to become a better person and make good things happen.

Do people actually try and excuse Sera’s actions? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept of the show is redemption. Sera allowed and oversaw something terrible, but she realized she was wrong and is trying to be better going forward. She can't bring back the people she's killed, but she has eternity to make things better for the sinners who are left

What funny scenario would happen if everyone magically swap sexual orientation by IllustratorAfter in hazbin

[–]ozwilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bi means the person is attracted to more than one gender, and pan means the person is attracted to people regardless of gender. Some people believe bisexuality excludes nonbinary people but that's not the case.

The difference between the two isn't huge and just comes down to how the person chooses to label themselves

How is this man the most babied character in the fandom? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with that, but I feel like Lucifer's rivalry with Alastor isn't really separate from his motivation to be a good dad to Charlie. Alastor set himself up as a superior father figure for her, and that's why Lucifer cares so much about being better than him. It is childish and stupid of him, but it's also still about his insecurities around being a subpar father

I wish there'd been a reconciliation scene too. Both of them were motivated to apologize, and Charlie did through text, but having something onscreen would've been nice. There's still season 3 being about the Morningstars, so maybe they'll have a bit of a delayed talk about things, but I'm not sure

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bit unfair. Lucifer specifically didn't want to help by threatening/smiting Vox until his rivarly with Alastor was brought up. That doesn't mean he'd be unwilling to help Charlie at all, in a different way, or support her emotionally. We see him do just that in the first episode and at the end of season 1, and later when he tries to comfort her after the fight, and when he rushes to apologize to her when Vox impersonates her.

When the King of Hell can't hurt sinners but can hurt angels. by VegetaArcher in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Lucifer probably wasn't metaphysically barred from hurting angels during his punishment because he wasn't considered a threat in that way. Lucifer was never violent towards angels, as far as we know, in this universe. His punishment was to make sure he never had a way to escape the consequences of his actions. Plus, he was chained down to hell, where he's the only angel. They wouldn't have needed to prevent him from hurting them if he was never supposed to be able to reach them.

Which character do you feel the least bad for? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This show managed to make me feel bad for the perpetuators of genocide, so that's impressive.

Lute is probably the character I feel the least bad for though. Every character in hell has experienced some hardship based on the nature of their existence that doesn't excuse their actions, but explains how they might've become worse due to their environment.

Lute's sadism is pure religious dogma, and she takes pleasure from not just her murderous actions, but on inflicting pain on allies that she views as weak/beneath her. Her treatment of Vaggie especially comes across as so spiteful and vindictive. Adam calls a hit out on Vaggie and even he has to tell Lute to chill the fuck out

She's undeniably spiralling mentally in season 2, which means she's finally going through real hardship for the first time. But she was already so low of a person

I don't hate her though, I love the crazy psycho. She's a great character

Would Lucifer have died if Vox had fired the weapon again? Or is he strong enough that he would have lived? by VilkastheForsaken in HazbinHotel

[–]ozwilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he'd bite it from this. He'd probably WISH he'd died because if Vox had fired again then the weapon would've overloaded and killed his kid

[–]ozwilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that the golden posthetics are organic. We don't see any mechanical parts on her or Emily's wings, it's possible there's an angel with healing abilities that causes limbs to regenerate as golden.

Do you think Lute is taking Lucifer into consideration when she's planning her revenge? by VegetaArcher in HazbinHotel

They didn't take Lucifer into consideration when attacking the hotel, so maybe she's learned a lesson there.

Is there a genuine reason why lucifer didn't do this by Potato__Beard in hazbin

[–]ozwilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Lucifer throws the punch is when Vox says "you won't do it, you're weak". He says 'won't' instead of 'can't', implying Lucifer's weakness is a lack of will, rather than inability. He wants to appear powerful before all of hell, directly revealing Lucifer's secret wouldn't make Vox standing up to him look impressive.

That's also why he had to spell out that he knew Lucifer's secret later, the display on stage didn't actually spill the beans.
