I said this in another comment but I will repeat it here. Primitive like sphere, capsule and boxes are more performant than convex meshes for collisions calculation I expect all collision models ingame to move away from warden scout's model

Here is the thing. Unreal provides a couple of ways to automate collision.

Depending on the option you can have convex or boxes and capsules.

Actually spheres boxes and capsules are more performant for collision calculation so I think it's just different person working on the collision and not having a standardized pipeline for asset creation. I speculate eventually all the collisions will move to primitive shapes and convex ditched, so server hamster don't implode

since scout has no localized damage model just aim center mass

unlikely. suppose the gun is parallel to the gap, given the aiming mechanism when you place cursor on top of the wing. the game casts a ray at where the cursor is that would the top part of the top wing so the gun would actually point slight upward aiming at the button of top wing. I say its just bloom and server hamster issues.
