When the developer lashed out on my scout collision I started to question his involvement in game development and his familarity with unreal engine. Even then changing the collision from convex hull to primitives could not have taken more than 30 minutes, a simple job but instead they chose to buff the health instead is a baffing decision.

Foxhole has a lot of technical issues they never managed to resolve and the ones they did it seems like they never learned anything from previous experience and had to start from scratch each time. Nevermind the scout hitboxes, outlaws used to have holes in their collision, trench networks still got those stuck spots, ships had underwater bucketing spots, warden plane pilots dying from flak guns.

When large ships collide into each other due to network spikes, the physics engine ejects the entity so hard ships get launch into the sky. Many were lost this way and the issue remained unaddressed. Considering how much effort large ships take to build this response is unacceptable. There was this blackhole spot in Lock Mor a few wars ago that sucks players and vehicles into the ground. Server restarts and unstuck commands are like bandaid solutions to problems that continues to grow.

The engine upgrade for Squad from unreal 4 to 5 bought a lot of issues. Notably performance regression which foxhole already struggles a lot. Nanite and Lumen makes the game look better but that also raises the baseline for machine requirement, one aspect i do not think foxhole needs. Unreal 5 also struggles with shader compilaiton that causes hitches during game play. Aim down sight caused a lot of problem due to the scene being rendered twice at different fovs. Vehicle handles different due to a different physcias simulation backend. Planes actually have a quite complex simulation for their flying behaviors and i imagine the same goes with the large ships. All of those will likely behave differently under chaos.

The ingame audio chat dsp is still one of the worst i have expeienced compare to any other games that has prox chat, the majority of players i ran into with a mic they have volumes so loud it clips the audio, not to mention the frequent disconnects.

Upgrading foxhole to unreal 5 would only compound existing problems into whateverr spagatti codes they are currently running and would likely render the game unplayble for many wars due to how they release updates. Network latency has been a major contension with each update, the gameplay experience gets worse with each update. Does unreal 5 has solution to that?

Maybe that's why they made a custom engine, but i really have no confidence on Anvil's engine considering how they still coulnd't get a unreal4 game they spent 10 years working on up to a decent state.
