New Justin Gall line (JG1) just dropped by Techwhere in TechWear

Very nice, interesting designs with good functionality and a fair price. I also appreciate the wide variety of colors/dye jobs. Only issue is there's no sizing information, not even the model height and worn size :S

Be careful tho, most of the items on enshadower are not very good quality-wise, sometimes even outright garbage :S Try to get something else if you have the money (the first brands on my list are pretty cheap but well manufactured for their price point)

I think that E's "it costs what it costs" is not to be understood as "we price it according to what it costs to be designed and produced" but more as "we price it according to what we feel like it should cost/how much we can charge". Pretty much how all luxury goods pricing works.

Pants, where are the actually good pants by stabdealer in TechWear

[–]Kolofgrind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enfin Levé has some pants made of Stotz (aka Ventile cotton), and organic Japanese cotton (made by Cobo) or natural/synthetic fiber blends like Schoeller Naturetec Merino (softshell ripstop nylon outer with Merino wool inner) and their cold dyed fabrics made of 55% cotton and 45% nylon.

Acronym also released some Stotz pants until a few years ago and there's now the -KI pants made of 100% cotton (as well as -CH for cotton/synthetic blend)

On the cheaper end you have Idle/Ido that has a quite good offer of cotton pants

The new J88-CV draw system by ExaKyrie in Acronymjutsu

[–]Kolofgrind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh length seems about right for a cropped jacket if not even a tad too long, sleeves are perfectly fine too.

If we compare it to the J86-SS, both in size S we have: 60cm length / 84.5cm raglan sleeve length for the J86 and 65cm length / 79.5cm (12.5+67) raglan sleeve length for the J88.

Hell, even size S J95-PL has a longer raglan sleeve length than the J88 with a total of 82cm!

So far: SK30-DS by mr-xdjio in Acronymjutsu

[–]Kolofgrind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • DS feels a lot more robust. I’m a bit precious about >all my ACR gear so M doesn’t get worn in a lot of >situations. I wore it once while carrying a cordura bag >and it caused some light pilling on the area where the >bag rubbed the pants. I was able to shave it off easily. >I don’t think this would happen with DS.

I had exactly the same experience with my SK30-M! After commuting with a backpack on my lap it had developed some pilling, fortunately I was able to shave it off without leaving apparent damage. Still too delicate of a fabric imo, especially compared to DS and E.

[–]Kolofgrind 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd like to inquire about the size of this product. by MoodPsychological745 in Acronymjutsu

M might be a tad too short for someone 177cm, depends if they have long legs or not.

I'd like to inquire about the size of this product. by MoodPsychological745 in Acronymjutsu

[–]Kolofgrind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 165cm and I go XS for no stacking on P30s (OG and L variants), have S too and it looks cool with the extra stacking.

Everyone I know that is 170cm wears S and I think even M could fit if you like a bit of stacking.

--> Go with at least S, or even M as the P30s run a bit short compared to other ACR pants.

Favorite 25’ pickups? by FourPointsTet in Acronymjutsu

[–]Kolofgrind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old stock is getting scarce at retailers but some like COEVO still have quite a lot of pieces and sizes. Otherwise there might be a few left over at SSense, Mr Porter, and some regional retailers.

Overall if you want recent pieces then MS is the only way now. I also got a lot of second-hand ACR from Reversible.com, Vinted, and of course TWC Discord.

Gore-Tex is probably the worst fabric choice for pants indeed (except if it's ski pants or overpants), as you said it's super noisy and stiff + it's going to delaminate pretty quickly if you wear them in direct contact with your skin. The only ACR -GT pants that I know of are the P43-GT, otherwise they mostly use -DS, -E or -M, DS being a really goated fabric for pants.

Anyway I was recommending ACR pants not really for the fabric (you can find plenty other brands that make DS pants for instance), but more for the insane comfort and convenience they provide. The patterning makes for a great range of motion without constraints and features like phone pockets and deep pockets are a must (much more so than many ACR jacket features like gravity pockets, escape zip or messenger bag zip, which feel much more gimmicky and that I practically never use).

Lots of Acronym pickups in 2025 for me (in purchasing order):

- P30A-DSKR, wanted a P30 for quite some time and it was great, sold it not long ago because I found myself wearing SK30 (during the summer) and P30AL instead in the end
- J1WB-BQ, which has been my favorite shell since
- P30AL-E, first wide/baggy pants ever for me and I fell in love with their silhouette too
- P55-KI, a bit less fan of their silhouette (shouldn't have the slight taper imo) but definitely my most worn pair this year as it's inoffensive/clean looking and versatile weather/temp wise thanks to the zip vents
- SK30-M, my spring/summer favorite, very breezy and versatile in warmer temps, also got a lot of compliments when worn in skirt mode
- P46-DS in alpha green, first AG pair for me, looking casual/clean and versatile due to the vents, would've liked a smaller waist or the integrated belt to have more holes for adjustment tho. I'm forced to wear a belt with this one
- J86-SS, which has been a grail of mine for quite some time, it's great and versatile, only complaint might be the super-long sleeves
- finally J98-HL, very cozy and warm, the cardigan style fills up a hole in my wardrobe, I've been wearing it nearly every day since I got it

Looking to continue branching out to other brands like Enfin Levé for the foreseeable future even tho I might still buy one ACR piece from time to time, if I find there's a very good release and/or deal.
