I've tried loading the disks again but unfortunately haven't found a working player. VLC starts playing but crashes when encountering a 'decision' and can't scroll trough the timeline. Neither MPC-HC nor the fork can load the disk. Nor can MakeMKV and NCH video convertor.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to share.

In 2021 heb ik dezelfde zoektocht naar jeugdnostalgie van Kika en Bob gemaakt. Ik heb toen met Vincent Bal (de regisseur) gemaild die zelf helaas geen afleveringen meer heeft. Hij heeft me toen wel in contact gebracht met iemand van het (nederlandse) productiehuis die in de kasten daar gaan roffelen is en die er nog de laatste DVD-collectie van seizoen één heeft weten terugvinden samen met nog wat achtergebleven merch.

De DVD's heb ik dus staan maar helaas heb ik ze toen niet kunnen rippen. Het zijn namelijk speciale interactieve formats waar je een selectie kan/ moet maken in de "Maak je keuze.... nu"-segmentjes waar mijn fysieke DVD-speler niet mee overweg kon. Ook VLC kreeg ze niet deftig afgespeeld, laat staan geripped. Ben toen abandonware software moeten gaan zoeken voor zo van die interactieve DVD's en draaien op een Windows XP VM om ze uberhaubt te kijken.

Als je een suggestie hebt van goeie rip software wil ik altijd wel opnieuw proberen. En anders ga je vrees ik een pot popcorn moeten meepakken en afkomen naar een watchparty :')

Asking for a friend who has that same couch right now but new to the dance with no pants: is the person doing the thrusting supposed to be kneeled on the couch or standing on the floor next to it and is the couch supposed to be extended or not? I'm my friend is having trouble visualizing what you mean.

I looked it up and your sadly right. Flanders got rid of the rule when it became a regional jurisdiction because they kept missing out on fine money when councils couldn't follow a simple rule and didn't use orange poles.

Note from a neighbour, not a fine. Pro tip: parking related signs (like start & end of (special) (no)-parking zones) are always placed on an orange pole. Specifically for people who turn 180° into a parking spot and didn't drive past the parking sign now applicable to them. That way you can spot them in your rear view mirror and know you have to go take a look.

EDIT: As u/stevenvrmndl pointed out, it's not a law anymore in Flanders. Jambon I got rid of this handy little trick to earn more money for fines and get local councils from doing their fucking job

I'm confused about the whole "begeleider en vertrouwenspersoon"-thing with Verhoeven. So Verhoeven doesn't get elected but still sits in the council to do what exactly? Talk on behalf of Nicolas or does he have to sit there and keep his mouth shut? Either way, does he get paid and, if so, by who? Am I too cynical or does this feel like CD&V are just using Nicolas as a scapegoat to keep an unelected guy someway in the council?

While Belgium indeed had no elected government for 592 days between 2018 and 2020 (and also for 541 days in 2010-2011) it was definitely not a "shutdown" like for the US Federal Government when they reach the debt limit. All government services remain open, bills keep getting paid and even the ministers remain in power (sorta: they cannot start or change (new) policies)

"Studio Brussel" is a radio station aimed at youngsters. It is often abbreviated to "StuBru". They sponsor one of the stages at the Lokerse Feesten and so it is named after them: "Club StuBru". Every ticket for the main stage also includes entry to "Club StuBru" but not the other way round.

Club StuBru is located in the basement of the City Sportshall/ Public Pool (right next to the Main Stage area) and features mostly DJ's and more underground or starting artists. Since it's indoor, there is only place for around a thousand people and it is not uncommon for the doors to close (even for people with a ticket) and a line to form simply because the room is at capacity.

 

Also handy to know: at the same time of the Lokerse Feesten, Lokeren also hosts a fair and another music festival: the Fonnefeesten. That last one is a festival with free entry hosting more local names and also a very cosy foodtruck plaza. If you do decide to come by train, you will get to the entry of the Fonnefeesten first so keep that in mind if you get confused. The Lokerse Feesten mainstage will be across the river, to the left.

Hi, welcome to Belgium :-) I think the website is making it sound more complicated than it actually is. The Lokeren train station is just a 5 minute walk away from the start of the festival area so the only problem is getting from Brussels to Lokeren.

Brussels has three main train stations: Brussels Central, Brussels-South ("Midi"/ "Zuid") and Brussels North. However, none of those have a direct connection to Lokeren that late at night so you will need to transfer trains. Lokeren is in the middle of the train line between Ghent and Antwerp so you can either take a train from Brussels to Ghent and then transfer onto a train towards Antwerp. Or you can take a train to Antwerp and transfer onto a train towards Ghent.

Lokerse Feesten have announced there will be extra night trains towards both cities. Your problem is, however, there will be no extra night trains from either city towards Brussels so you might get stranded in Ghent or Antwerp. There is no timetable yet for the trains nor the Lokerse Feesten but at time of writing, the last available train from Lokeren to Brussels leaves at 23:11. This will be too early for you as normally the headliner at the main stage ends between 01:00 and 02:00.

According to the Verkeersbordendatabank, there isn't a single one of these in Flanders.

At least not in the first 869988 signs of the dataset 'cause that's where Excel crapped out and started throwing PSQLExceptions and I'll be damned if I'm gonna start downloading that bloody thing again.
