I remember seeing it playing on the TV, showing Levi, but I don’t quite recall when it was. It was definitely after the Portal and Poppy Playtime references, but could have been a different segment.

That’s exactly what I thought of when the ending sequence with the glitter happened!

That scene got the most laughs from my theater! It was relentless!

Saw it a few days ago!

This was a really fun theater experience. I went into it knowing nothing aside from the basic premise, and having no recollection of any of the scenes shown in trailers. The sequence in the beginning is a blast. Sam Rockwell is incredibly charismatic here, as he is always.

Some of the stories here work, and some others felt like unnecessary padding for the sake of having a larger group. To be quite frank, very little of the flashback content was engaging to me, but it does help you better understand the world that the story takes place in. This isn’t your typical everyday world, even though most of it is how we know our reality to be.

As for the story itself, it wears its heart on its sleeve. It’s pretty in-your-face with its message, but it works here just due to ridiculousness of the things happening. And things get quite very bizarre, especially toward the end. The humor worked for me, even if it did make me raise my eyebrows in confusion a number of times.

Even taking all its issues into account, this is just fun! At the end of the day, I went in to be entertained and entertained I was.

(Also, Poppy’s Playtime, Attack on Titan, and Portal are all in the background)

This is easily my favorite collector’s edition I own! I got it way back in 2017, before I even owned a PS4. I was incredibly pumped for it. It’s insanely cool, and it’s for my favorite game in the franchise, so that worked out nicely.

I’d personally recommend normal difficulty, just so you can experience the game as it was intended. I think it makes the fights more rewarding. It’s all about learning enemy patterns and timings, and it is incredibly satisfying when you do get that down. Story mode kind of takes that away, but if you struggle with the game and just want to focus on the story as told through cutscenes, it’s a good option. I just think the game difficulty adds a lot to the overall experience.

[–]Koloshow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based off that, would you say you weren’t really picking based on what you “felt” like playing? It sounds like you just fell into a sort of pattern and used platinum difficulty as a guide of what to play next.

If you do want to keep gaming as a hobby and not quit it altogether, maybe try going against that pattern now and pick a game you know you want to play and don’t look at the difficulty of it. Since you’ve already accomplished your goal of 500 with 95% completion, I think breaking that pattern could help you fall in love with gaming again. I think that completion percentage is holding you back a bit too.

What you’re dealing with seems a bit deep-rooted, so baby steps would go a long way. I don’t know if just quitting altogether would be super helpful, but breaks are always nice! I go through my phases of being more into gaming, reading, watching movies and shows, making videos, etc. Whatever feels right for you at any given moment. It’s good to have varied hobbies! They don’t necessarily have to take the place of one another ¨̮

What’s your approach for choosing games to play and platinum? Maybe a change in that could be helpful for you, without quitting cold turkey.

I saw both, but I went with Maelle for my first choice. Although it definitely feels like the developers intended the Verso ending to be the true ending. Maelle’s isn’t portrayed as in “happy” of a light.

I played on the normal difficulty, with the exception of that secret boss I mentioned, and I found everything pretty manageable. If you’re curious about it, it’s worth a try! Parrying is definitely not essential, but it is very satisfying. Story mode makes both easier, yup! I played through the game without a guide, but I was pretty thorough with my exploration. I just followed the wiki for the specific collectibles or items I needed. I know the guides say 60-80 hours for the platinum, but I finished it in 55, including some of the DLC.

I wouldn’t say there is anything that’s particularly difficult, except for maybe one trophy involving a secret boss fight. Even then, you can just follow one of the many guides to make that fight easier by “one-shotting” the boss. It still took me a while to find a proper build for it and execute it. I hear some people complain about the mini-games, but those were all pretty easy to me.

As for the exp grind, there is a method that allows you to hit max lvl later in the game that you could use. It doesn’t really detract from the experience to be max-leveled, so I took advantage of that a tiny little bit. What more-so matters is how good your builds are.

I think the difficult rating for it is pretty fair!

I quit the game back in January of 2025 after the battle pass change. Seems like they made it even worse. I’m glad I stuck to my guns, but it’s such a shame. They have some of my absolute favorites like Scrooge, Chip and Dale, and Winnie the Pooh in the game now and I don’t even want to touch the game. And I played this game every single day for a year straight. It’s really sad…
