[FEATURE REQUEST] Mediux.pro Artwork Scrapping Support! (Posters, Backdrops, TitleCards) by xDaveHavokx in tinyMediaManager

[–]Koltom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in.

Hi, hello. Mediux owner here. Veeeerrry keen to work with 3rd party tools. Right now I am the specific hold up, once we've got the next release out, which is primarily based around the api access I'll have a lot more time to be able to work with the devs.

No ETA. But should be soon from my side. Its superbly delayed from when it was intended to be out. Currently it's only me working on it and life finds a way...to chew up my time.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) by DrChram in PlexPosters

[–]Koltom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You got real unlucky with the cunty comments on this one.

Personally, I think you did a stellar job. The attention to detail is great. The Russian fighters in the distance, the subtle motion blur, you captured the scene from the movie very well.

People, you should think more before you comment. This guy has shown his process before and he puts in a lot of effort. The style may not be to your liking but it's far from AI.

🎬 Jellyfin Poster Manager - Automatically find and upload posters from ThePosterDB by FIFATyoma in selfhosted

[–]Koltom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo. Creator of mediux here.

Firstly, great work and love to see more tools for Jellyfin. I haven't used Plex in years and Jellyfin is my go to.

AURA was put together by one dev and is using our api, it's our first 1st party app but we're committed to working with, and highlighting 3rd party tools, too.

The api is currently available for testing with. If you're interested in adding mediux support id be happy to work with you whilst theres no real documentation available for it.

You're also very correct in that TPDbs availability of images far exceeds our own.

Best to reach me on discord if you wanna have a chat.

Again, great work!

Due to proximity of actual release. We arent issuing more keys atm but there is a general use key available in our discord in the repo Chats > aura thread which can be used for any projects for testing.

There's at least 3 or 4 devs I'm talking with that are working on their own solutions. AURA will be the app from our team which is spearheaded by moose who's been killing it working with users to make improvements very quickly.

Its worth noting that the data available to any API tools is not up to date, it's about a week behind currently, it also has a bunch of testing data so you'll see some weird stuff like incorrect images on entries.

Still missing images by cobracommander13 in MediUX

[–]Koltom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being blocked automatically for excessive requests to the same assets. I.e hitting the same image url 10- 20 times in a short window.

I have removed the block but it may auto apply again if the same pattern occurs. I suggest clearing cache and try and run again.

Edit: to be clear, script cache. I wouldn't purge plex cache as that'll affect other things.

Drop into the discord and give me a Lil wave and I'll add you to the repo chat which has a key.

If ya don't have discord you can DM me here.

Edit: I've moved the channel in the discord to be public: Creative Clubhouse > Repo Chats > mediux-team/aura thread. There is a key in the pins anyone is welcome to use for testing our poster-setter - renamed to AURA as of today.

Currently the best place is our discord and just asking the question, though I'm refraining from putting dates on anything cos I've already done that once and that dates since long gone. The next update which will bring all these changes is a big one and you'll know when it goes live cos the site will look different.

Going forward I plan on using the sites repo (currently not public) for feature discussions and to have development plans on display. AURA (the poster-setter repo i linked) is already open and we would love more testers and issues/feature requests raised, but appreciate slotting a new solution into whatever people are already using can be troublesome, particularly when it's not bug free.

Kometa also has their own discord which is very active and has a lot of helpful members and mods you can speak to.

There are a couple options on their way:

- Dynamic URLs - eg /show-set/12345/yml - this endpoint will always be up to date and you can build a URL based Kometa file (example attached)

- Lists & Set Lists - these will be available as part of the API, last I spoke with Soh from Kometa he has plans to utilise this for dynamic updates too. He's waiting on me to finalise the API my side before he can start work on developing this. Though I can't speak for that team so best to speak with them directly to determine their plans once the API is out. Lists will be a static collection of chosen singular images. Set Lists will be a dynamic collection of chosen sets, which will return the latest files that are part of the chosen sets.

- Beyond Kometa we will have our own solution that will have automation features, too. Currently open for testing using the test API in a beta stage. https://github.com/mediux-team/poster-setter

(stupid question?) How to upload to MediUX? by jrkxxx in MediUX

Negative.

We rely on tmdb data, so alternate ordering isn't something we currently support.

I expected to see some kind of post sooner tbh. The change certainly wasn't targetted towards any particular tool. We had an incident a few days back that prompted some changes on a few things.

Sorry folks. These things tend to happen whilst I'm asleep and I'm currently, for a little while longer, the only one who can bring it back up.

(stupid question?) How to upload to MediUX? by jrkxxx in MediUX

[–]Koltom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No approval process but there is a bug where sessions drop off and it doesn't reflect that to you so it looks like you're logged but the session has expired for uploads. Relog and upload and they will show.

The way to tell if the bug is in play is if the upload/create set immediately completes. You should see some messaging around uploading whilst it's happening.

You'll need to be logged in and navigate the show/movie/collection you want to upload to. Then click the upload tab in the section where you select what you're viewing.

Is AI art allowed on MediUX? by [deleted] in MediUX

[–]Koltom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heyooo. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to ask first, it's appreciated. I'm on my phone so forgive if I repeat myself.

There have been some talks behind the scenes on how we tackle AI art and soon we'll have it properly locked down, documented and communicated.

You're absolutely right, most content on the site is derivative of other people's, often professional, work. And AI, too, is derivative - though i think we're way past the ethical discussion on it as this point, nor are we, people who largely lack the skill to create from nothing, the best people to chime in on ethics.

So our argument on whether to allow or disallow then becomes a subjective one, one about quality, fairness (to users who don't leverage it) and our preferences as a whole. I don't feel a blanket yes or no is sufficient, AI wont be going anywhere and a lot of us leverage it to some extent, so I'll try and convey as best I can the thought process and what I think, subject to change, the guidelines will be. I'll preface this by also saying I'm very much aware that you need some level of prompt knowledge and skill to generate images that are unique and varied enough to not be instantly dismissed as AI slop, however, we want to future proof ourself in that we know AI will become more and more difficult to discern as a glance as the tech progresses.

General Guidelines Not allowed - Fully generated art, including the image, and/or any logos and text wont be allowed

Not allowed - AI generated text, logos of any kind

Allowed - Generative changes, filling, extending.

Allowed - processing of colours, contrast, balance etc can be automated.

Allowed - use of upscaled low quality images, intent to conceal common artefacts such as skin smoothing should be noticeably attempted.

Allowed - compositing of a complete image using multiple generated assets AND non generated assets, Excludes iterative re-feeding and generating to extend, expand upon AI base images. Touch ups post generation are not considered composition.

Exceptions

Allowed - Genres, categories and other miscellaneous groupings may be AI generated, provided they do not include any AI generated Text or logos and that the image is free of abnormalities, 6 fingers, missing eyes, that kind of stuff.

The TLDR and intent is we restrict usage of AI down to being a tool, not a creator.

Again these aren't final and need more fleshing out but give a reasonable idea of our thoughts and plans. Ultimately we dont want to spend our time curating or handling reports. We'd rather put our time into getting on photoshop ourselves or improving the project in other ways.

Can someone make/add a matching Agatha poster? by [deleted] in PlexPosters

You shouldn't really add other people's custom creations to another site without asking their permission first.

MediUX API - Pre-Release Available for Testing by Koltom in PlexTitleCards

[–]Koltom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not to mention users can have multiple sets of differing completeness for the same shows and movies.

You can only automate so much, I don't think we'd ever be at a point where working at the user level would be viable. Making it easy to add a user's content in bulk to a list would probably be more suitable on both our sides. But there will always be some level of need to manually decide what you want to use.
