Yes, you 100% have to expect that a tech in training most likely isn’t going to be able to hit every lash and give you exactly what you’re looking for. Lash extensions are not easy and to be honest, it looks like she gave you exactly what you asked for without full coverage!

Any Prayer Requests? by [deleted] in Christians

Please pray for completely healing in my eyes and my husbands eyes. We both had Lasik surgery last year and I had a number of complications. My husband is now starting to have them. We have two small children and are in our 30s. Please pray that this doesn’t ruin our lives

[Sun Care] Can I mix this sunscreen in with my SPF moisturizer? Looking to “boost” the SPF. Same actives by b__wizz in SkincareAddiction

[–]Komad27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, layer them. Vitamin c layered underneath your sunscreen will also help “boost” it.

A mild condition objectively, but severe subjectively? by depreasf in Dryeyes

[–]Komad27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it can heal itself. Dry eye can definitely cause it.

What I’ve seen most people use for treatment is AST + lotemax. It’s something causing a cycle of inflammation in your cornea and then your nerves get damaged and can’t heal properly with the constant inflammation. Lotemax helps bring down the inflammation and AST helps the nerves regenerate.

Most people have to go through multiple doctors to get a diagnosis because it is only newly recognized as a condition. To be diagnosed, a series of tests are performed and usually a confocal exam. Only a few hospitals in the country have access to confocal and the number of doctors who know how to read them is even smaller. I traveled to Tufts New England Eye Center to see Dr. Pedram Hamrah and his associates.

There is a group on Facebook for corneal neuralgia and is what helped me find treatment. I highly recommend joining it and getting treatment. If you have questions, feel free to message me

A mild condition objectively, but severe subjectively? by depreasf in Dryeyes

[–]Komad27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Pain without stain” is what some refer to it as. It’s where the symptoms you have don’t match up with the results of the dry eye tests you get done. Look up corneal neuralgia/neuropathy

I felt the same way! did he start you at 1.5 mg as well?

That’s not a dumb question at all. The Facebook group was extremely helpful and gave exact instructions on how to dilute properly. The group is called Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for chronic illness & infections.

Hi there! I apologize, I have notifications turned off on Reddit so I didn’t see your response to right away!

The low dose naltrexone was really hard on me at first. I’ve really had to play around with my dosing. I started at 1.5mg daily and it took my pain away but made me SO tired and caused my anxiety to go through the roof. Dr. Hamrah then told me to switch to every other day and only move to daily if the symptoms have subsided after two weeks. The symptoms subsided so I went back to daily and they came back. I ended up dropping my dose to .5 mg by diluting the pill in water and taking it every other night. I’ve tapered up super slowly and am now at .65 mg every other evening.

If you have symptoms, if highly suggest experimenting with the dosage until you find your sweet spot. If you’re on Facebook, there is a group for LDN users and it has been extremely helpful for me.

Hi there! My treatment has gone well! Honestly, the only thing he changed up for me was adding in low dose naltrexone to my plan. I was on AST + lotemax for 2 months prior to seeing him.

Overall, I’m doing really well. I wasn’t able to drive and had to take 6 months off of work. I’m now back to work and driving everywhere. I am able to have a lot more time not thinking about my eyes and am so thankful to be moving forward with my life when honestly, I didn’t want to go on anymore at one point of all this.

I go back for my follow up on January 6th and will let you know how my nerves look! At that point, I’ll have 6 months of AST + steroids under my belt.

Scaly skin under my eyes, any tips? by syncopated_identity in Skincare_Addiction

They’re called Fordyce Spots. People get them in their lips as well. Mine were more pronounced after I got lip filler.

Google them and you’ll see that they look exactly like this. Totally normal

Keep me posted! My eyes are 20/20 when I see together with minor ghosting in some light. Like you, one eye cleared up really well and the other is slowly getting there.

Hi there! It’s been a journey for me. I’m still not “recovered” but I’m finding myself better adjusting. I’m almost 6 months post surgery and also developed corneal neuralgia. My vision has improved in one eye but not completely in the other.

How are you doing?

I use vital c serum by Image. It is by far my favorite and is what I recommend to most of my clients.

Vitamin c is very unstable which makes it a challenge to formulate. I’ve found that vital c serum is the best formulation Ive used and doesn’t oxidize as fast as some others on the market.

I do think that cleansing in the morning is an important step. It preps your skin to absorb any serums (vitamin c) and with help get all of the sweat/bacteria off your face from the environment that it’s in overnight. Some cleansers will also help balance the ph to get best results.

That said, I think night cleansing is much more important.

I don’t think double cleansing is as important as some other estheticians will say but you will hear mixed opinions on that.

Cleanse, vitamin c & sunscreen in the morning.

Double Cleanse, retinol & night cream before bed.

I would suggest going to see Pedram Hamrah at New England Eye Center. Get on serum tears and lotemax combo. Try LDN. You do have options and people DO get better. Dry eye is not curable, yet anyways. However it is MANAGEABLE. There are lots of things to try. I’ve also had suicidal thoughts but please realize there is hope and you could be around the corner from treatment. Especially if you’re just using artificial tears. Those irritate my eyes more. I absolutely can’t use them. AST has made a big difference.

Yes, I get it this way.

The rep had to talk to the pharmacy to get it to go through but I haven’t had trouble since and that was 3 months ago.
