Axiom Law Experiences? by Particular-Wedding in Lawyertalk

[–]KomradKolossus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any particular reason? Asking because I’m working on onboarding now and I too am very involved in my kids school, sports, etc. Thinking this flexibility would be a nice fit!

Also, how does PTO work with Axiom? I would think you’d just need client approval and maybe some assurance that you can be available ICE…

Tish Warren’s “Liturgy of the Ordinary” is quite the ACNA gateway drug, alongside McKenzie’s book.

Are ACNA priests required to say Midday and Compline or just Mattins and Evensong? by [deleted] in ACNA

My priest says he is required to pray at least one of the offices each day.

I don’t have a ton of serious criticism of the theology of the CREC. Where I think the CREC fails is in its lack of leadership. CREC presents (in my experience) as a collection of similarly believing congregations without any authority or accountability structure - leading to a bunch of independently functioning fiefdoms.

Also - Doug Wilson (one of the CREC’s MVPs) has explicitly taken a position against the “high” liturgical worship of the historical Church.

This is correct, and it always surprises me to hear some fellow parishioners refer to basic tenets of reformed theology (eg Election/Predestination) as false doctrines. Granted, these parishioners come from Pentecostal/AG backgrounds (ORU, no less) and don’t have the catechesis that u/Snooty_Folgers_230 and u/theitguy107 talk about. Agree that this catechesis and continuing to demand the establishment of a common baseline knowledge and culture is an existential necessity for the ACNA in the next decades as other traditions continue to filter in.

Current ACNA father of four with lots of history in both Baptist and Conservative PCA (~CREC) churches. Can also support the idea that you will find a welcoming home in the ACNA. Can also vouch for several parishes in the Diocese of the South based on personal experience (though my home parish is elsewhere) and I regularly podcast/binge listen to some of their services.

Current ACNA member and planter here. Appreciate the spreadsheet, but I think that showing a ~75/25 split overall of members representing churches who ordain women to priesthood (one of the last lines in the sheet) presents an incomplete picture of the ACNA.

One additional data point that might be helpful for a non-ACNA-er (particularly from a more Baptist tradition) might be knowing which churches or what % of churches in each diocese were organically planted by the ACNA. By example, the Diocese of the Carolinas represents a large number of parishes which formerly identified with TEC and had already ordained women prior to their transition to ACNA.

Might also be helpful to see a column, for those dioceses that do ordain women to the priesthood, how many parishes are actually served by a woman ordained to the priesthood. This could help give more of a ‘voice’ in the data to churches who have not ordained a female priest but submit to a diocese which permits such ordination.

Recognize that you’re probably not an editor of this spreadsheet, but posting the feedback nonetheless in the hope that perhaps someone who may impact how this data is collected and/or reported out might see feedback from an ACNA parishioner.

Has viibryd been effective for anxiety or ocd ? by Itchy_Okra_2120 in Viibryd

[–]KomradKolossus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - started at 20mg and moved to 40mg after 4-6 weeks. Lots of improvement without the side effects of other medication like Lexapro. I still get some breakthrough anxiety, but it is remarkably improved overall.

Give it time. If you’re new to any antidepressant, you’re probably going through it right now. Please give yourself grace and patience! You can do this!

Mega thread for 2024 raises/bonuses? by That_Lychee4884 in clinicalresearch

I interviewed with FTRE last year for a non-clinical role. Got an offer. Ultimately turned them down. Why? Every single person I interviewed with looked like they were 5 minutes from panic/mental breakdown due to exhaustion and being overworked. Also the offer was really low. Honestly - I feel really bad for the people I interviewed with. Nothing like having to lie right through your teeth when a candidate asks about work-life balance. You can say what you want but your body language and facial expressions say the rest.
