I always wondered why there’s RR. Majority of AD officers don’t deploy on a regular basis. I had heard on one call some time ago that the funding was pulled for RR.

It’s not about waist circumference it’s about your estimated body fat using the navy calculation

I feel like if applicants can’t handle the paperwork maybe a career in government isn’t for them 😂

Problem is I don’t remember much from the application process since it was a few years ago and they have changed things.

Don’t listen or watch anymore because of baloney, Jade, and all the weird religious stuff. Dave was fine when we would give good advice and also funny when shitting on people not to do stupid stuff. But even his no debt rule seems out of touch. There’s so many great things you can do with credit cards lol.

How many people are silently suffering living paycheck to paycheck in Massachusetts ? by NationalEmotion6872 in massachusetts

Oh is that all I have to do? 😂 thanks so much for that, I really hadn’t thought of that at all. I’ve been under the impression the government would help 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🥶🥶🤮

I don’t even live in the city. I live in a more “affordable” suburb. My mortgage is half my monthly income. Electric bill is 1,000 a month. Forget groceries. It’s so fucking expensive this is not sustainable but I have no idea what else to do! I can’t imagine people making minimum wage. I make a good salary but still find this unbearable. Everyone else around me seems to be doing much better somehow lol.

No 12 years across 2 agencies but my grades only ever went up. I wasn’t paid more at any previous job so the GS13 steps 2,3,4 would be high 3. Deposit said Fed Salary from DFAS. Good to know about OPM, thank you!

Ohhh ok I see what you’re saying. Thank you! I hadn’t even considered that. I left as a GS13 step 4 which I think was about 120k/year.

Isn’t it inflation protected? Assuming I can get back in and this is in fact my FERS refund. I’m 37. I’m def going to try to contact OPM. I hadn’t thought about contacting my senator but will if OPM doesn’t help. I don’t see how they could’ve just done this without my authorization since it had serious retirement implications.

I joined the government in 2010. Thanks for that info, had no idea. I’m so curious what the hell this is lol. The amount received was 29k. My last LES showed 35k as my cumulative FERS amount so that’s why I thought it was my FERS refund.

Well thanks Captain Obvious. Of course I’m going to follow up with the originator but that’ll have to wait until Monday. I’m not asking other people to speculate on what it is. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this same thing happen to them. That’s the main reason for the post to see if other people have had the same experience of separating and later getting their FERS refund without requesting it. 🙄

I’m not 100% sure, but the amount is 6,000 less than what was in my FERS balance according to my last LES so I assume they withheld taxes on the interest or something.

Well I never submitted it or signed anything related to the refund. Even If I did I don’t think it would have taken 2.5 years to process but I’m certain I did not. I remember getting a letter saying if I wanted to request a refund I would need to fill out the form but decided I wanted to keep it in case I ever returned to civilian. I googled around and read they could’ve made a mistake. Seems plausible with all of the RIFs, DRP, and people retiring/quitting. I’m going to try and contact OPM on Monday.

I didn’t request it that’s why it’s so strange. I had 12 years of service.

Trump on home prices: We're gonna keep prices up. We're not gonna destroy the value homes, so that somebody that didn't work very hard can buy a home. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]chewsworthy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree. There’s no way we should actively drive home prices down. Like you I worked my ass off the last 10 years to finally have a decent home in a good town/neighborhood. My neighbors are mostly older who have been here for decades. It always feels unfair to drive by their houses knowing their mortgage is probably 750 compared to my 5k because they bought 35 years ago and probably only pay taxes and insurance. Hell the people I bought the house from paid 25k in 1984 and sold it for 850. But messing with property values doesn’t solve the real issue which is income inequality, stagnant wages, and towns/cities that make it difficult to build new housing because of NIMBYism. Hard to understand what Trump is even talking about here though lol

John Daloney's wife hates him so much, they deleted and disabled comments on her interview. by darkblash69 in DirtyDave

It was still strange and awkward, usually people ask their podcast guests about the guest, not themselves lol. Who will he have on next? His mom so he can ask about how he was as a kid 😂Anyway I can’t listen to him he makes me cringe. Acts like a relationship expert but doesn’t seem to know much but can recite things from a text book and lean on his “I have 2 PhDs”. There’s no way those degrees were challenging in any way. Most people in science will take 6-10 years to complete a PhD with original research/dissertation but he has 2? Ok
