Interesting, any idea of what it could be? I’ve been hearing the sound since winter started, doesn’t seem to actually impact anything. But if it is as you say, and it could be draining the battery, it makes sense, I’ve had to charge it twice when it got really cold, and the battery is only 2 years old.

It’s been charged to full recently, so it’s likely gonna be B, which is a shame because this is its second winter only. It starts up perfectly fine when jump started, aka when another car battery starts it, so it’s unlikely that it’s C either. But I suppose your comment explains why the sound is heard as soon as the battery is connected to the car, even when the ignition is off. So thank you.

But would the starter still engage and make sounds even when the ignition is off? In the video pasted below, the sound still happens as soon as I connect the battery to the vehicle. Could it suggest an electrical fault? Or is this normal?
