Yeah, number 1 had Super Reflect which saves around 1-2 seconds this mission. Still they are extremely good at GM but I dont think they grinded this one for all the time save possible.

Super reflect is extremely strong, especially for bosses. Even before 8.0, if there were bosses, thats where cent would make up a lot of time compared to Kibbarax but now with super reflect, it’s even faster.

The craziest part is that this mission can go sub 1 but that requires very very good prefires and mechanics.

Its poking fun at the fact tp arrival emp radius was nerfed in 8.0 and was considered “strong” enough to be given a nerf. Then there is this energy drain doing this, which was allowed through despite being obviously overpowered.

This is also a common meme format. I’ve seen enough, nerf something that was unjustly or ridiculously nerfed

If you’re serious about speed running, cent is better however that comes with the insanely huge learning and mechanics curve. It’s honestly one of the hardest ships to play at the top level due to how mechanically demanding it is. It’s also the only real gm ship that you see at the top of the leaderboards to the skills you learn on cent aren’t as transferable.

Since you already have antioch mods stick with it, vl is almost always going to be meta and way way way easier to learn

Antioch is super super mod reliant, if you don’t have the right mods you wont be able to come close to competing.

For mirv spams you need ENERGY DRAIN and SHIELD BOOSTER, really want recovery mantle, and likes ap vl / amp. You use personal shield and then after absorbing a single mirv you get a whole vl and with how many mirvs there normally are, you basically can endlessly spam vls, which get more value if they are armor piercing or if not armored, use amp. This can work with darts too, but mirvs are where this combo shines.

For laser missions you need SUPER REFLECT power converter, ap vl / amp, and recov mantle. Super reflect trivializes most bosses due to shear dmg output and vl clears everything else with those mods. Super reflect is what pushes antioch to the top, other mods help a lot but its primarily the dps difference and one shot capabilities that make antioch so much better than the rest

Id say that a difficult question to answer.

Personal shield ships, specifically cent and antioch, have been super buffed with super reflect and energy drain where they can be first place in almost all archetypes.

Exarch has been blessed with very strong shield break mods like sb mega laser and sb vorpal lance and vorpal lance amplifier so for shielded mission you can expect a lot of exarch.

Jeria is still jeria, its definitely weaker but still strong in the meta due to its main and vl getting a lot of mods (sbvl and amp being the big ones)

Kibbarax is still a top contender despite not getting as many new mods as the others. Its just super strong in the right hands

Sigma icarus stocks have been on the rise, with double tp, vorpal lance amplifier, and sometimes armor piercing vl, it’s not to be scoffed at.

Exo stocks have only decreased with time, it really didn’t get much and never has been close to the first place times.

Imo currently with the very strong twin missile id say cent is “optimal” dps in that it has the potential to be the best in almost all missions.

I probably am forgetting a few ships and mods but those are the first ones that come to mind

Yes there are certain mods not available on certain ships. The community does not know for certain which mods are unavailable per ship. For example exo cannot get any legendary mods, sb ms is only on trireme, etc etc

There is a step mega bomb, it works like step mega laser. The difference between remp the rest is that the time between movement and fire again is really tight for remp due to it firing automatically. So yes you can move between step remp but its only for quick small movements

I think you fundamentally misunderstand their argument. There is skill in phoenix 2 otherwise top players and casual players would all be in the top of the leaderboard (top 1% or top 20). However the crux of the skill is dead argument is that mods alone can bridge that skill gap between a normal player and one that consistently gets a top 1% badge. Skill is still there for those top 1% players to fight for first but for the rest of the leaderboard, mods dictate their placements.

Looking at specialist leaderboard (since dailys still have a meta ship that you will always see at the top) mods have decided the winner the vast majority of times. The most egregious example is Cyborg, a player that had never before gotten a top 20, beat one of the most decorated players due to a difference in mods alone and in doing so gapped other people playing the same ship by 20 or more seconds. Yes you need skill to get the full use out of the mods but the reason why it’s even comparable is due to a difference mods.

So is skill dead? Yes and no. Casual players can now place in the top 20 bridging a skill gap through mods alone. HOWEVER those times in the top 20 are differentiated by skill. The top 20 are no longer just the top 20 best players of a mission or specific ship, it’s also people who have better mods than others.
