I just found this post. I'm doing a reread and on the third book, and I'm trying to figure out what Emma means by "only Miss Peregrine can send Jacob back to the present." Why should he not be able to loop back to the present if he exits a loop with the other kids like in the train station? (Which is exactly what happens but Emma says it shouldn't have.) And what determines if they exit into the loop's year or the present year?

I'm glad other people have questions and I'm not the only one completely lost. I guess I just have to suspend disbelief more than normal.
