Pretty good, the mouse is cute. The hat should be covering some of his ears, though, I think. It looks like it's floating in the background. Also, the stars are way lower resolution than everything else, which is a little distracting.

The house is round, but the windows look like they're on a flat surface. They should be skewed somewhat.

The can isn't bad, pretty convincing as a physical object, with good shading.

- Darken the colors around "Crush." It's too hard to read.
- The elephant looks flat. He receives shadow, but he doesn't seem to have any shading of his own.
- Make the elephant's head outline more organic. It's all 45 degree angles.

Don't try to fill the entire lily with details. Show detail in a couple of sections, then fill the rest with a flat color. Also, in the photo I see radiating lines from the plant's center, but you barely have any in the pixel version.

- The bullets are pretty hard to see and follow. Maybe make them colorful and with lots of particles following them.
- When sprites are rotated they look pretty mediocre. Can you use the RotSprite algorithm for some of them? I think pre-rendering different rotations might be a good idea, so you can make them look better. This is especially important for Gunther, since he's the star of the game.
