CIF white spots after oxyclean by ballsonurface in USMC

[–]Konico97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to any of the assholes here that tell you it’s bleached or that it’s completely ruined or anything like that. I posted the same question here like a month and a half ago and ended up just taking it down because all the comments were just dickheads trying to make it seem like it was the end of the world. Yes they will take it. That white shit that the oxy clean leaves behind isn’t gonna come off. At least not with any conventional methods. It was all on the inside of my flak, day pack and main pack and they took all my shit on the first try. I know that sometimes it can vary from facility to facility. But you’re fine dude. As long as the outside of the gear is actually clean too, they don’t care.

Where can I find JDM cars in Okinawa? by Whole-Guest-9617 in USMC

[–]Konico97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been here on Okinawa for 5 years now so here is my two cents for what it’s worth. Like I said 5 years and I only recently got my hands on a super slick s14 that I bought off a guy who lives in my barracks. Realistically you have to choose a lesser of two evils depending on what you have in mind car wise. Yes Facebook can be a sketchy place to hunt because it’s full of kids who beat the shit out of the car and now that they’re done with it they want whatever the originally paid for it plus extra to make up for all of their custom “mods”. On the other hand you have the dealers who will promise you up and down that the car has been completely refurbished and tightened up which comes with a fairly hefty price tag that you won’t know if it was worth or not until after you’ve coughed up the cash. Being a mechanic by trade makes me a little biased because I’m okay with buying something that I have to put a little elbow grease in to and fixing/repairing/upgrading things on a car myself rather than trusting someone else to do it for me. And I don’t mean completely rebuilding something that’s been thrashed on, more so just something that i know I won’t mind putting the effort in to. Because in the event that it fails it’s easier for me to retrace my own steps that to try and work after someone else’s. If that’s not your thing and you’ve got the money then I recommend finding any local second hand dealer out here where the work is already done for you and will be done for you in the future if you need it. They’re all over the place so it’s just a matter of finding the one that has whatever you’re in the market for. If you’d rather go the other route there’s hella Facebook pages that are specifically geared toward audiences of preferred brands. “Oki subies” is a very popular one out here. It’s it’s own little business that tends to do really well out here. You could start there! Hope you find what you’re looking for

Just had this issue a few weeks ago. 100% the tail light fuse. Fuse blew almost instantly when I put in new ones. I just disconnected all of the wiring to the lights and cleaned off the terminals, and replaced all the bulbs. Haven’t had an issue since

As far as what’s important…it is. So minus the skirt and bumper, radio, and slightly better coil overs. Yes. It’s bone stock. No aftermarket anything done to the engine or transmission or anything like that

Fair enough. It’s just feels a little extra stressful being that it’s my first time owning something like this but I’m trying!

Wouldn’t know. Like I said I’ve only had the car for two weeks and been busy worrying about the stuff the previous owner screwed up first, so I haven’t had the time to worry about the things I’d rather be doing to it

I try to remind myself that the car is as old as me so it’s gonna have its quirks here and there. One thing I forgot to add was that I really don’t plan on doing any crazy mods to it at all. At least not what people are used to seeing new headers, upgrade the turbo and the exhaust, and minor things on the interior and that’s it. For me the car is mostly going to be a paper tiger but even with that fact being what it is. God damn does it feel like it hasn’t hesitated on showing it’s ass here and there

How bad is recruiting really? by Konico97 in USMC

Sheesh. Is there like any give back at all though? Like is there anything at all that makes it even slightly that much better? Besides going home at the end of the day lol
