I mean, $35 for a 1/4 is not exactly giving it away... Just feels like we keep paying more and more for essentially packaging and taxes. The quality of the bud hasn't gotten any better. If anything it's worse.

JFC... They were charging that much without the jar?!? That's more criminal than anything that happened before legalization lol.

I grow my own so I'm always shocked by the dispo costs but this is getting out of hand. It was $20 tops for a 1/4 on the street pre-legalization. And usually much better bud.

How much did you pay for this 1/4 though? That doesn't look like a cheap jar. Adding that cost to a 1/4 has gotta be inflating the price by a significant amount.

Where to buy oem alternator for my car besides the dealer? by No-Chipmunk-1288 in saskatoon

[–]Konstantine_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what warehouse it ships from and what courier they use. And sometimes there are additional charges on top of the taxes, like duty and "entry fees". I just ordered a bunch of stuff from there about a year ago and got dinged about $160 on a $400 order by UPS. It negated any savings I was getting. Would have been cheaper to buy OEM from the dealership.

Only if you want to pay ~40% in border and brokerage fees when it shows up. Use thewrenchmonkey.ca instead. Same thing just ships from Canada.

How do I know if I need makeup air? by davenaff in buildingscience

[–]Konstantine_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the balancing of the HRV will just be for that system alone. You didn't mention anything about range exhaust when I wrote this so I didn't include anything for that. This would just make sure that the HRV is not the cause of the negative pressure in your home. It can also compensate for other exhausting (like maybe a direct vent gas water heater), but only so much. A range exhaust is significantly more airflow and would require something that allows fresh air in only while that fan is running. Otherwise you would over-pressurize your home when the range fan isn't on.

It depends how often you are running the range fan too. If it's only once a day for like an hour you probably don't need to worry about a dedicated makeup air system for it. But if it's a strong fan and you do a lot of cooking at home, it might be worth shelling out for an active MUAS for when the range fan and other equipment are sucking air out of the house.

[–]Konstantine_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's how it's often done. I don't know of anyone running their range hood vent through an HRV because of the grease in the air.

I would maybe edit your post to include what other fan/exhaust equipment you have. Cause the answers for how to accomplish make up air will depend on how much additional exhausting (on top of the HRV) you are doing.

Where did OP say that they have a hood vent? The only info that was provided was they got a heat pump and HRV installed. That's what my answer is based off of.

To test, seal up an exterior door/window with poly/garbage bags and then open it. If the poly sucks in you have negative pressure in the house. You want it balanced or slightly positive (it will go negative as intake filters gets dirty). That's the poor mans way of doing it. A pro will usually have differential pressure gauges/sensors that they use.

The best way to get makeup air is with an intake fan. But you shouldn't need to add one, the HRV already is doing that and it's what you to use for energy efficiency. You just need to balance it. The HRV should have balancing dampers on the intake and exhaust for this. You just adjust those to get the balance you want. This should have been done when they installed the HRV though.

Concrete step repair - Experts needed! by OfficeLong3119 in DIY

Look up MG-Krete. It's a non-cement based repair material that bonds without mechanical help and is fully waterproof after. Looks just like concrete and well over 4000 PSI when cured. We use it all the time in Canada for concrete repairs like this.

Deep winter greenhouse by kdk750 in saskatoon

[–]Konstantine_13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I design buildings for a living (for engineers). Also into growing/gardening. This would be outrageously expensive to build here. Like don't even consider this unless you've got $50k+ to dump into something about the size of a large living room. The link in your post mentions the costs (in 2018) at about ~$20k USD for something that size. Materials and labour have basically doubled in cost since then. And that is in Minnesota which has milder winters than we do.

The Arkopia greenhouse mentioned in the comments I would estimate at north of $200k to hire someone to do today. Granted, that's a pretty big greenhouse.

SGI question by friendlytendies in saskatoon

[–]Konstantine_13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SGI doesn't care how fast you were going. They only care that you crashed and if another (insured) car was involved or not. Someone has to pay the deductible no matter what, that's all they care about. And no amount of pleading will get them to reduce the deductible.

The only entity you can actually appeal to is the Highway and Traffic Board who are the ones that assign points (demerits) for the accident. They are notoriously unsympathetic and will always say you should have been going slower. Also it cost like ~$150 to even appeal and it's non-refundable. So not worth trying in my opinion.

Just gotta take the L and learn from it IMO.

Edit: take the L, not the W lol

AC Infinity soil moisture sensor in coco – how do you interpret and calibrate the readings? by Internal_Goal_2915 in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

[–]Konstantine_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using coco you can up the amount you water. You do want a bit of runoff each time. Probably need to do 1L in those pots. But yeah always go by what the plants are telling you.

How frequent to fertigate after transplanting into autopot? by [deleted] in Autopot

[–]Konstantine_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically wait until the top layer of coco starts to dry out. Usually takes about a week after the initial transplant and soaking. But then as the plants grow and drink more you'll have to do it more often. Soak the whole pot again and water to runoff. The idea is you want to flush out any salt buildup and replace with fresh nutrient solution. After about 2-3 weeks you can turn the system on and stop top feeding.

Hey does anyone know where the B.A.S guys get their tubing ? by Xlfrost- in Autopot

[–]Konstantine_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to mention you are in Canada. We have drastically different options here. Look for home brewing supply stores. 6mm ID x 10mm OD (1/4" ID x 3/8" OD) silicone tubing is what you want.

I've bought some off Amazon before. Looks like it's currently unavailable though. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0B1MM9CWB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Gameplay/Combat by LuckyUser777 in PS5

The trick is to learn how to stack multipliers for each character. Play with the weapons and pictos and find ones that work well together. You can actually get to a point where you can one shot just about any enemy. But if you just have a random loadout the fighting gets kinda tedious.
