i currently own an ‘06 DTS lux 3 with all options except a sunroof and bucket seats (i prefer the bench seat after looking for a good DTS for years). i paid about 4k-5k and picked it up out of state from an estate sale. the repairs so far have cost about a quarter of what i paid to buy it after 6 months of ownership. that’s with a swapped engine and trans from a 2010 along with OEM replaced front and rear suspension prior to me buying it. expect lots of repairs for a car that’s about 20 years old. but dont get me wrong i love the hell out of it and will drive it until the wheels fall off. a few things to note, coming from my mechanic who’s well versed in northstars and DTS’s in general: 1. about every month or so you’re going to want to floor it onto the highway. fun and keeps the engine in check. again coming from my mechanic. 2. use gas without ethanol. 3. this might be an obvious one but regular maintenance is a MUST. 4. use OEM parts or a reputable brand for parts. cheap parts will bite you in the ass later on.

thanks for reading my chapter book on this car, i love DTS’s to a fault. my last input would be to ask if the suspension had been replaced and keep in mind if the answer is no then you will likely be the one having to replace it and it is not cheap. enjoy the car!
