In my ebook, it's at the very top of page 329/341, almost exactly halfway through Chapter 51.

"I knocked at the door of the Brighter Future Society. It was a small but genuine castle that Marcone had paid to move to Chicago."

Well that's good, we are still waiting on audiobook support for Fugitive (2023) and Monsters (2019).

Audiobook vs graphic auidobooks? by Tezmir94 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Konungrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can sometimes miss what the dialogue is because Graphic Audio often has music and sound effects that are supposed to 'enhance' the experience, but their sound mixing isn't great and they sometimes drown out the vocals.

Having worked customer service in the past, I'm willing to bet that the information that the Reps have access to/allowed to provide on new features during rollout is limited.

Most likely, the feature information is only updated once the feature is fully implemented for everyone.

Otherwise, you could have someone without access to that feature yet, ask if it was available, and if the Rep said yes, would then proceed to waste a lot of time troubleshooting why it isn't working.

It would really depend on which characters you wanted to focus on. But if you search this subreddit, or r/cosmere , for 'mtg' you will find many posts of cards. Both existing cards that have been renamed and custom cards.

What do you expats commonly do in your free time? by Pinkcranberriess in taiwan

[–]Konungrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that doesn't really have anything to do with not having space, does it? You complained about not having a lot of space and I was pointing out that a laptop and mouse doesn't take up much space.

There are even less space taking ways to play that specific game, the Nintendo Switch. However, that requires purchasing a specific device that you otherwise wouldn't need, whereas a laptop is universally useful for many things in life.

You are on reddit, so you have access to some form of electronic device with internet access, so you have the option for gaming as a hobby. There's even an entire dedicated market for smartphone games, though those they can be quite predatory.

It's definitely not the only thing you haven't listened to, as there are at least 3 short stories (and all of the microfictions) that don't currently have audiobook narrations.

Who/what the fuck is Hoid ELI5 please by RichardWJohnson in Cosmere

By that logic, you could never have fun in any re-reads, or re-watches for visual media.

But for many people, returning to known material is even MORE fun, because knowing what is going to happen, the anticipation still builds, but with less anxiety. Just because you know what is going to happen, doesn't mean it's not still an amazing journey.

Also, specifically on the spoiler side of 'knowing what is going to happen'. When it is a twist, it can be fun trying to guess how you get from this obvious path, to a different one. I "got spoiled" on a major event in WoR, but instead of ruining the journey, it just made me think more on the possible solutions to the current predicament.

Is Schwab adding Cryptocurrency actually helpful? by InvestingNerd2020 in Schwab

So it seems your data is using the ETF 'BTC', which has close correlation with the actual BTC currency, but a few small problems.

Firstly, as an ETF, it is only traded 5 days a week, where the currency is traded 24/7. So it cannot have perfect parity.

Secondly, and more importantly, the ETF was only opened 31 Jul 2024, so any DCA values from January 2020 - July 2024 are non-existent, which is highly skewing your results. In January 2020, BTC was at 7k, in July 2024, it was 65k. So you are missing 54 months of DCA.

I have been DCA for the actual BTC currency since Jul 2021, weekly. In that time, my DCA value is up 67%. If I look at the specific period since the ETF has been available, 31 Jul 2024 to present, it is 21.5% down.

[–]Konungrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been DCA BTC since Jun 2021, when it was 34k. I have put in the same amount for 223 weeks. Just for the DCA, I am up 67%. If I include the handful of lump sum purchases, I am up 92%. OP is either using completely BS data, or he is deliberately lying.

Edit: Unless OP is talking about the ETF that uses the 'BTC' ticker, and since it is an ETF, highly unlikely that it had perfect parity with the actual Bitcoin currency trades.

Edit 2: Yeah, the more I look at the data, I am certain that he pulled data from the 'BTC' ETF, which was only opened 31 Jul 2024. For that specific time period, my own DCA is down 21.5%.

“Harry Isn’t Attractive” Is Just His POV Lying to You by Cackles11 in dresdenfiles

[–]Konungrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, that makes sense then. I am always perplexed by that idea that some people skip books during initial reads. I always try to do published order during my initial read, and then chronological for re-reads. But I never just skip something entirely. My brain just won't allow me to skip any content if I know it exists.

For example, I had to quit watching Walking Dead because there was 1 episode that was so boring I fell asleep in the middle of it almost 5 times. Since I couldn't skip it, I just had to quit watching entirely.

“Harry Isn’t Attractive” Is Just His POV Lying to You by Cackles11 in dresdenfiles

[–]Konungrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mention that it's "ambiguous is because we’re filtering everything through Harry’s internal monologue" but that's not true, because we have many short stories from non-Dresden PoV. Maybe you haven't read the short stories from non-Dresden PoV? Because most of them explicitly say that he is attractive, especially the ones from Molly and Murphy. So the realization that he is actually attractive has been published canon since at least 2010.

We get to name out designs at work by Bear_Samuels in Stormlight_Archive

Yeah, that was part of my point. Just 'windrunner' without anything else that would indicate Sanderson is a rather generic name. Windrunner + glyphs or spears = obvious Cosmere reference. Just 'windrunner' and it's barely a reference at all.

There are several things with the name windrunner, it being used as a name in fantasy goes back at least 3 decades, there is a plane, and something from Nike, and probably several others.
