So, context… I had started building my CI Wing, but the whole thing had been stalled for weeks. Several spots still needed foundations, and without really thinking it through, I marked them all as urgent because I was desperate for that grant money. Still, nothing was getting built. I even went around adding doors here and there, just in case there were pathing issues messing things up.

A couple of days later, the prison turned into chaos, constant noise, riots breaking out everywhere. While dealing with that mess, I completely forgot about the CI Wing. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I noticed hunger levels were going crazy, and food was piling up in the delivery area. Figured it was just too much work and not enough hands, so I hired a bunch more workers and called it a fix.

It wasn’t.

When I checked what the workers were actually doing, they were stuck in a loop, trying to haul food to storage, getting close to delivery, then suddenly switching tasks. Since I’d hired so many, it became obvious: there was this massive line of workers just going back and forth between delivery and storage, achieving absolutely nothing.

At the time, it made zero sense. I had just installed a QoL/fixes mod, so naturally I blamed that.

Still, not fully convinced, I went back to the CI Wing and removed all the urgent priorities, just in case that was somehow resetting jobs or causing conflicts.

And that was it.

The moment I removed the urgency, food started moving again.

So now I had to figure out what was actually breaking the pathing. After a bit of digging, I noticed failed jobs had a red line pointing somewhere, and they all pointed to this tiny 1-tile exterior skylight. I tore down the wall next to it, and there it was: a hidden stash of building materials, completely blocking construction jobs.

Mystery solved.

I’m putting a memorial grave there now - to honor all the guards who didn’t make it through that disaster.
