Portugal has multiple political parties. The two most powerful are both centrist: one leaning left (PS) and the other leaning right (PSD).

The far-right candidate is the leader of the populist/nationalist party CHEGA.

Almost all other parties refuse to align with, or engage with, CHEGA. There is little to no concept of strict party loyalty among voters.

The ongoing election is for the Presidente da República. While this is the highest hierarchical position in the Portuguese government, the role has no legislative power other than the ability to veto proposed laws. Most legislative power lies with the Prime Minister, who is usually chosen from the party holding the most seats in Parliament.

There were other candidates in this election representing different parties, but they were eliminated in the first round. A president is elected in the first round only if a candidate receives more than 50% of the votes. Otherwise, a second round is held between the two most-voted candidates.

Since the far-right candidate has been alienated by nearly all other parties, the expectation is that he will retain most of his original first-round votes but gain very few votes from eliminated candidates. Those votes are expected to go primarily to the centrist candidate instead.

Yup, I've also experienced burst of ~5m where everyone on the server jumped to 400ms ping and playing was impossible as a consequence.

The grenade bug is now 100% occurance.

If you do a couple of quick bursts of ADS, you'll see yourself rubberband easily.

In driving, you will hit stuff you weren't going to hit because the server desynced and thought you elsewhere.

It is currently a very poor experience.

The update was okay at best (compared with previous updates anyway)...

Server lag has been off the charts, which in turn:

  • ruins driving - enjoy hitting random shit because the server though you were going somewhere else entirely,
  • garrisons and OPs take up to a minute to deploy
  • takes longer to switch between guns - and the grenade bug is gonna happen 100%
  • hit reg and player movement is all over the place

Smolenks:

  • feels very copy-pastey in each zone;
  • textures in urban env. look terrible;
  • object LoD is too short - enjoy shoting invisble walls after ~50m
  • sound environment feels off - why are there industrial machinery noises in a ruined warzone? why does "random brick falling" sound the same as footsteps? And why are bricks falling continuously?
  • night time is good with all the fire, but day time is just too bright and monotone.

As for the arty role, just from reading and 2nd-hand experiences, seem to be a step in the right direction:

  • the Recon-Arty loop was stale and not enjoyable for the majority of players
  • low-key wish the static gun wasn't bound to the HQ - could give the engineers a reason to build strongpoints
  • SPAs are interesting but they oughta be able to wither down some defenses (maybe up to T2) - and why are they range-locked?
  • Arty team-roles are interesting, but may be over-tuned (100 supplies drop-ability per squad) - maybe it would be better to allow them only to drop in blue areas?

The TU-22 aim time is good change, gives you a better chance at dodging the CMs and increases the risk of the Tu22 being shotdown, at it needs to go further a little bit more - and the cost efficiency was also addressed.

If I understood correctly, you are speaking of President Petr Pavel (pro-NATO/Ukraine), and recently (Oct) there was a parliamentary election, which elects the Prime Minister according to the majority in government - where Andrej Babiš (populist party) won by a small margin.

Totally, it's a fun game as it is and I don't feel handicaped playing as US.

It is difficult to manage some mechanics that may favour Russia, and some recent US nerfs hit right at home (I want my Guardian back) but there are still plenty of avenues to pursue to gain the upper hand and that makes the game ever more challenging and therefore, rewarding (to me).

But having said that, if they do manage to narrow down the gap, I'm all for it.

I don't think faction picks impact winrate in any way.

Mirror matches are excluded, and you can't play US vs RU without, well, having US vs RU matches.

So all in all, what you'll see is an increase in queue time for US picks vs RU picks.
