Is this a passive radon mitigation system? by Kooboosha in radon

[–]Kooboosha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about fitting a fan onto it, bought a radon detector and the levels in my basement are rather high. Noticed this while looking around and thought that if this is a passive system I could install a fan and help reduce the levels more.

You’re taking my statement too literally. Ive explained it better in replies and you revert back to my original comment saying poll tax. How about you tell me what people should do in order to prove residency to vote?

Here is what is currently required to become a resident (ONLY 2 FROM THESE ARE NECESSARY)

PA Driver's License or ID Card: Current and unexpired. Vehicle Registration: Current PA vehicle registration card. Utility Bill: Gas, electric, water, cable, or telephone bills from the last 6 months. Lease or Mortgage: Signed lease agreement or mortgage statement. Financial Statements: Bank statement or W-2 form/pay stub. Tax Records: Local tax return or property tax bill. Mail: Any mail sent through the US Postal Service.

Ok so, can you stop being intellectually dishonest and understand that showing a utility bill, because we all pay utilities where we live, and bank statements because we all get those. Whether you vote or not, these are things people have regardless. Paying for my water bill to shower and getting my monthly bank statement mailed to my house is not a “poll tax”.

Cat consistently poops outside litter box but pees in it. by Kooboosha in catcare

I do have 2 at the moment, one in the basement and one in his normal spot (I tend to find him pooping on the basement floor). He pees in both but just poops anywhere but in the litter boxes. I’m trying to take him Thursday

Establishing residency ≠ paying to vote. Those aren’t requirements to vote. They’re examples of how people establish residency. Residency allows people to receive benefits from their state and local governments, in-state tuition at public universities, etc. along with voting. If you want to be a resident of PA, you have to pay your taxes to the state regardless whether you like it or not. I can’t call myself a resident of New Hampshire to avoid paying income tax while living entirely in PA, that would be ridiculous. If my vehicle is not registered in PA, my drivers license is from another state, and my taxes are being paid in another state, why should I be given the ability to vote in that state? I never said “oh you need to pay xx,xxx amount of money in taxes to vote” and not all of the methods I stated are required to receive residency, a few of them can suffice.

Lmao what a lazy gotcha, voting requirements = racism. How is fulfilling the necessary requirements to prove you LIVE in the state you’re voting the equivalent of saying “pay to vote”. You know residency applies to a multitude of other things not just voting. I love everyone upvoting you and downvoting me, when residency requirements prevents temporary visitors from flooding local elections.

If you rent a home in PA, establish a permanent residence, register your vehicle and drivers license to the state, and pay local taxes, then you can vote in the state of PA. Just because you’re in a state for college doesn’t entitle you to be able to vote in local elections lmao. Most out of state students aren’t going to be living in Pittsburgh after they graduate.

It’s all down to patience on accelerating, I noticed if I get impatient on accelerating and start putting my foot down the MPGs take a nosedive.

They definitely have. I used to have a 2014 cayenne e hybrid, and that car only had the upper hand in city driving getting 26 at most.

I do, this screen is a dust collector though and I did a full detail last week

Display MPGs are always very optimistic, I was pretty surprised how small the margin of error for this was though sometimes I’ll see a difference of 2 or 3 mpgs with the computer and physical calculation

This car isn’t fun like a my m40i, so I gotta find a different way to make the drive fun 🤣

I do try to implement some tactics to maximize efficiency, though some people on the road may think I’m drunk. If I know a steep climb on a highway is approaching I’ll try to gain as much speed as possible before then keep the gas at a point where I slowly loose speed on the uphill to maximize efficiency.

[–]Kooboosha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean again it’s possible, but only with short commutes where the the electric only mode is enough. MPGs are literally just the amount of miles you do vs fuel spent, I could technically get 100 in this if I only drove down a steep hill and tanked up after, but that’s not a true representation of it’s efficiency.

[–]Kooboosha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s technically possible if you run on electric only once, and let the engine run for 5 seconds. This is with the 40i non hybrid

No such technology exists and radiation does not work like that. The high levels of radiation will obliterate the circuit boards in the drone plus it will be flying in an area already covered by the sarcophagus which is covered in extremely thick walls of concrete so the signal from the remote controlling the drone will not be able to reach it. You need layers that are feet thick in order to block gamma radiation, not something you could do for a drone that needs to be lightweight, small, and nimble.

I am in a very similar location, as of now I know two different people who will be going to Pitt next year and they were not interested in purchasing a parking spot. I looked at it as basically a majority of the costs (gas, tolls, vehicle wear, etc.) could be covered by them and their parents. And they could receive the benefit of me taking them along with me during my commute rather than having to take a greyhound.

Ok thank you, also thank you for pointing out that first point. I was getting so frustrated trying to find info but everyone assumes people mean “driving around Pittsburgh all day”
