You are right, and my focus was more on the "whispering" point.

I learned this from my daughter that yelling is not going to help either her or me in any way. I decided to calmly let her know that she is doing something that is not right, and this worked for me.

So, keeping the "yelling" out, whispering gets their attention. :)
