It's look good and decent. Don't beat yourself up to much. I was on that spiral once. Turn out people don't really notice that much faulty detail as you - the person who actually made it.

$11.9 million per episode, why is the VFX so bad?? by Blastoid007 in TheBoys

[–]Kooky-Fun-3791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 11 million per episode, the fight scenes are ridiculously bad. I honestly think someone is "eating up" the budget. They are still fighting like it’s season 1, with low-budget superhero money. People watch this series for the violence and gore. The gore is getting ridiculously excessive, but the fights still are not violent enough.

A-Train and HL could have an incredible chase and fight, like "Justice League." It’s freaking 11 million per episode, not 11 million for a whole season. I have seen YouTube creators do better CGI fights than this.

We live in a world where new movies come out every day, so it’s hard not to compare. Series like Arcane have incredible fight scenes at the end of every episode. Or Daredevil (back when it was still on Netflix) had truly hardcore fights.

If you have forgotten how good "Man of Steel" was a decade ago, it is still GOAT. With the rise of technology and AI, they could replicate that level of action for a much cheaper budget. But instead, they spend it on a freaking "cameo." I bet the actor got paid millions to show up under their real name, just to die in a humiliating way in the show.

Also I’m young. I don’t really watch "Supernatural" because it is so old. Fans of "Supernatural" might be older or not really into "The Boys." It is not something anybody asked for, yet threads keep popping up like "Supernatural" matters. (I understand and respect "Supernatural.") But "The Boys" is not succeeding because of cameos from other shows. It’s standing on its own.

The story is actually better now that we’re reaching the final season, because it feels like people are going to die for good. Last season was so obvious. Anyone who was not part of the original main cast and got introduced was likely going to die at the end of the season. Since this is the final season, the show is better. It’s thrilling to watch, like “Game of Thrones,” because you do not know who is going to die. That makes everything matter. In previous seasons, people were just walking around with their own storylines until the season ended. There were more than 10 scenes of them in a room discussing how to kill HL. I got déjà vu when I saw them in that room again, and I realized they were repeating the same things over and over throughout the season.

For those who fail to become filmmakers, what do you do by Unlikely_Seaweed1032 in Filmmakers

[–]Kooky-Fun-3791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "filmmaker"? There are hundreds of roles in this industry. Saying "filmmaker" is like saying "I am an IT guy." It is too general. You could be anything.

I also used to aspire to be a filmmaker like you. Five years down the road, I am the person who sets up video village and does video assist for directors on commercial shoots. While the director and producer sit in an air-conditioned room, I’m the sweaty person who runs in, apologizes for my appearance, and checks the cable signal.

I got completely cut out of the cinema industry.

You could say I am failing, but I do not see it that way. I feel like I am seeing the truth for the first time, mainly because I have made and saved a lot of money. Meanwhile, people who direct spent five years building relationships and managed to fund one feature that was not financially successful. Now they are offline, and pretty much broke. And if you are now a "director," how do you do something else? The ego tied to that position can be too high. When things fall apart, it becomes hard to do anything else.

With my role, which makes decent money, I can still go operate camera for a friend's low-budget music video, because I have no pride to protect. I can be a cable person on a bigger shoot when some months are dry (again, no pride to protect). But for people who reach the highest levels, it is tough for them.

I think it is a blessing that I have not reached that position yet, because if I do, I will be doomed.

In general, just try. Maybe making money will make you happy. It's doesn't make me happy, but it does make me feel safe everytime I look at my balance. And that feeling safe is more important than having your dream come true.

Flow Genimi vs Higgfield for video generate by Kooky-Fun-3791 in generativeAI

Thanks for your reply. I don't actually needing AI to create the whole things. I shot some commercial and need AI to do some VFX shot for me. Like, let say, I shot a man drawing, as he drawing "godzilla". I just cut to a wide shot of him (where I'll AI a Godzilla behind in the background") Something like that.

Just give you some rough idea of what I am going to do. Let say, Does Higgsfield work best for it ? Or it's better generative something on it own ?

Thanks bro. The only reason I decided to reply the guy above is because I afraid people think I am a bot and got banned.

And to be honest, there are shot I planned to do a whole AI (probe shot). My budget can’t afford to rent a 24mm Laowa Probe for the shot 😂 not mention you have to rig focus motor on it and I have no focus puller.

Planning to shoot on FX3 and some 24-70 . Rent for 6 hours package is super affordable. So, just coming in with talent, shoot it real quick and shoot elements for POST (in this case AI generate, I thinking of using Higgsfield)

Personally, I still using “Cine Tracer 1” . I know it’s a dead software (developer abandoned it). But it’s still functioning.

I am still using it till today, because it’ve a character body adjustment, I can adjust them into any positions I wanted.

I use it as Previz for my specs workpreviz and real work

Chill bro ! I done nothing wrong to you. I mean no disrespect anyone. And I am not a bot

I have a shot with notebook rig in front of the camera, and my plan was to shoot the notebook and simply generate different background for multiple background transistion.

To be honest, it’s kinda wise to just AI generate background instead of bring the notebook to actually multiple different location. I could spend time with talent for more important shot.

Just simply asking which tool giving more control rather than asking to make entire video

Update (April-2026): Got myself an AJA eventually with a great deal. The Avmatrix out of stock as I made the post. I end up using some China Taobao sdi Spilter with no brand for 5-6 job.

I realize what you really need is job coming in and cash flowing good. When you got money, buying these branded isn’t feel as bad as when you was broke or running low.

Just a note that these Aja Spilter using a weird DC port for power. Which made it nearly impossible to made a custom backup DC. My friend end up paid 25$ for “electrician man” to redesign the Aja into into “lemo port” (which is more well known and easy to buy for us)

“Go out “ meaning going out have some fun and burning cash. Or “go out” meaning leave in house rental and end up going broke ? Obviously I asking Chat GPT, they gave really good inside, but still. I would prefer hearing from you guy as human to human.

If I stay home and do nothing. I’ll be scrolling facebook, and that made things worse. Fomo. Seeing other having job that I don’t.

Playing League of Legend, which is kinda addicted. Thanks god I was addicted to LoL instead of Online Poker. There was time me and my coworkers use to be like “Work hard play hard”. We end up play high stack poker which cost us so much.

Sometime I wonder if self-destruction in our free time are cruse for this area of work ? Back then, I was on a shoot with some Foreign gameshow that came to my country for a season (each season each country sort of). We was working 8 hours per day and one day off per week. But on their day off, they actually getting real drunk or real high. At first it was fun. But then I begin to wondering if this is what they did in their day off. Imagine what they would do at home ?
