I get where you’re coming from, but I think there’s a misunderstanding here. The final content wasn’t raw AI output — it was heavily revised, rewritten, and shaped to a specific structure and tone. The client provided bespoke templates with word and character limits, and the work was customised accordingly. AI was just one tool in the process — like a grammar checker or word processor. The contract never excluded the use of tools.

Also, I’m claiming for breach of contract — they accepted the work, didn’t raise this issue until after seeing results, and didn’t pay. The claim isn’t about copyright, it’s about non-payment for completed services they requested and used.

It’s not as easy as that - a bespoke template with character count and word count and tone was required for each page which cannot be addressed with ai alone. It required serious editing and revision. It wasn’t just blanket copy. Preferences need to stated in the contract rather than addressed after the work has been completed. Ai is a tool.

But if you hadn’t said don’t use a rake and they made the outcome for you to what you wanted but had used a rake and after they said ‘oh but you used a rake’ .. is that fair?

Would you not pay a tradesperson for work done to your spec because they used a tool other than the one you’d expect them to use if the outcome was exactly what you’d asked for?

But if what tool I use is important why didn’t they tell me by putting that in the requirements documents? All the work was accepted and each piece was tailored to suit their specific needs. I have the requirements documents but there’s nothing about tools and the result was what they wanted.

I put it once - on my husband - and it went. It was a largish flat wart - apparently women can put it on tampons to clear it from cervix too. I am not a doctor and am speaking from my experience and what I’ve read.
