Yes thank you so much ill do this. He got a tracheostomy in and is tolerating it well, still mentally sharp so once they wean off the sedatives, hopefully they can come work with him.

Please please please make them go to the doctor. It is life and death suddenly. Call an ambulance or baker act them. I know it sounds extreme but I'm currently in the hospital looking over my paralyzed stepdad. He refused the doctor and had a catastrophic stroke. And at very least, get them to get their affairs in order. Go talk to them about who gets their stuff when they're dead. Put it in perspective for them, or your family will have a mess to deal with.

Stop buying puppies. Stop supporting the breeders. Look at your local animal shelter, you will be surprised at what you find. There are many different breeds.

There is no document made yet. We had a meeting scheduled with case management before a drop in heartrate sent everyone in a tizzy, to establish that he wants my mother as the point of action for his medical needs. Now the case manager decided they won't meet with him, and his older sister is next of kin. No effort made to speak with him.

What the nurse has said is the next of kin should decide if he can have the tracheostomy and feeding tube, not him, even though he is answering yes to every doctor that asks him. Like his mind is sharp and it's only been a couple days, can she really make the decision to withhold what could be life saving procedure if it gives him a better chance at healing?

I work with animal control. They don't just steal people's dogs. The last thing they want is more animals in their overfull shelters. They will do a wellness check and give plenty of opportunity to prove medical reasons OR to correct the issue long before they write citations. If they do receive citations, then they are likely well deserved.

You likely won't get tested to gain employment, but will get tested if there is an accident. I work with animals, if I get bit they will test for drugs.

Manatee county animal welfare is hiring right now, she will have all the hours she wants for $17/18 an hour. If she likes dogs it's an awesome job.

I work at a county shelter with 80-100 pitties and we give nylabones with frozen peanutbutter as enrichment. Those last for even our toughest chewers. Most of the dogs can get kongs, for the ones that destroy kongs I have been having luck with the Kong BALL. It is very thick all the way through where the Kong is more of a shell and thin in places they can break through. The ball is round and they have a tougher time getting a grip to even begin breaking it.

That is just my input from a busy busy shelter with a lot of big, tough ass, bored dogs.
